Birding in north Haiti at the Logon au Boeuf, near the DR border...

Here comes some stationery porns.

Lazy me did went to ISOT 2010, THE most exciting stationery show in the world IMHO, but I didn't post any report as diligently as Mr. Tadashi Tsuchihashi (土橋 正), who is a professional stationery commentator, writer and published several books and maintains a blog called Pen-info.jp.

Tsuchihasi san have just posted a 4 pages long report of the show, featuring things he captured in his short visit. While I was featured on page 4, I figured I should've done something here. So I looked at the pictures I took and found a very different approach to the show. I have a feeling that he sees things more widely and pragmatically, while I tend to be emotional and go with the flow. Simply look at the differences I learned a lot.

Celebrating the Extraordinary

Venue at Marina Bay Singapore. My respect to the cheerful supporters young and old at the breaking ceremony of the 8th ASEAN Para Games at Marina Bay Singapore.

Inspired by their acts of community support for the event.

I am not an official photographer. Just happen to cruise by and capture some happy moments of the opening.

The smiles and cheerful volunteers from all age groups light up a wonderful start for the 8th ASEAN Para Games event.

Pony Brown 2011 Diaries Arriving Soon

We are very excited to learn that the new Pony Brown diaries for 2011 will arrive city'super and LOG-ON soon.

Most of our popular diaries are already sold out since we started selling them from August, we simply don't add any more dated diaries because the season is ending. However, almost all of our Korean friend's diaries are undated, perpetual, we are able to grab them while they are just being released locally in Korea.

You probably won't see them during Xmas in our stores, but they will definitely arrive in January. Stay tuned.

Hi.

Lego Ideas project -> tinyurl.com/sf9sp5w

This is my design of The Time Machine (2002 movie version) and submitted to Lego Ideas.

It would be awesome if you took 30 seconds to head over and help support it (can use FB logon too) . Lots more photos and details on the Ideas site

Thanks

I couldn’t believe it when i saw this to mainland European collectors this would be a average find in bad condition however the old Dacia Logon was never even sold in the UK so this has fallen off a foreign visitor car!

An Afternoon of Sticker Mania - Loving Innovations from Seoul

Being exposed to Korean innovations in my last and 4th business-only trips to Seoul is like discovering yet another heaven for stationery. The people I met all possess a strong will to make things better for everybody. Imagine being blown away to meet 15 makers in just 3 days, you can see how things are all clogged up in my brain, talking about post-trip neuro indigestion.

So I took my time during this weekend, playing with all those stickers I found in Seoul, making use of them as much as possible. One of those beautiful stickers maker is Enjoy Everything (www.e2e2.co.kr). They've done awesome works on making stickers sheets readily with nice graphics for everyday use. If you check out their site, you will find several categories of stickers like fabric tapes, PU stickers, embossed stickers and A4 sheets of stickers with various materials, colors and patterns.

I also went to the warehouse of a luggage and cosmetic case maker called EDDAS. They made beautiful cases and I couldn't resist but bought a special leather case from them, which is not available at retail, for my personal use. The leather case sat at home for a week and suddenly I was able to make it really personal by putting on all these stickers I found from Enjoy Everything.

By cutting the PU sheets following the outline of the printed graphics, I was able to enjoy a quiet Saturday afternoon playing with how to personalize my EDDAS leather case.

This evening I've finished the touch up and carried the personalized leather case to go sushi dining, I was rewarded by dozens of prying eyes :)

I also had a meeting with Antenna Shop in Seoul, one of the top sellers in our stores, they've done some colorful PU embossed stickers as well. I'm expecting them to arrive our stores soon. So there will be more stickers available in our stores! Come check them out.

Norfolk Southern caboose (also bearing the Norfolk & Westin logon) passes the Amtrak platform in Roanoke Virginia.

Monuments historiques: PA00089925

Address entered in the Mérimée database:

Grève (rue de la); General-de-Gaulle (rue du)

29590 Le Faou - France

Insee code of the municipality: 29053

Finistère [29] - Quimper - Brittany

Approximate address taken from GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude):

1 Rue du Général de Gaulle 29590 Le Faou

Protected elements:

Church (cad. 1999 AE 20): registration by decree of June 3, 1932

History:

The church consists of a nave, a wide double transept, a three-sided apse and gables. To the south, a large porch bears the dates of 1593 and 1613. The bell tower, openwork and elongated, is cushioned by a lantern dome and bears the dates of 1629, 1630, 1634 and 1640.

Periods of construction:

16th century, 17th century

The Saint-Sauveur church was rebuilt between 1544 and 1680 but retained the furniture of the previous church. And some parts are graded. In particular the “snakes” baptismal font, made of Kersanton stone, considered to be of exceptional interest, and a magnificent stone pietà. The stained glass windows recounting the legendary foundation of the parish, the altar of the rosary and the medallions illustrating the "joyful, glorious, painful mysteries", the Saint-Antoine altar with turrets, that of the "four women", the panels with angels and the carved wooden candlesticks from the 17th century... The church contains many treasures!

Logonna Stone

Illustrated explanatory panels (made by the Ar Faou association) evoke the history of the church and its heritage The exterior is also very beautiful: the Logonna stone gives the building a golden hue associated with the Kersanton stone for the statuary elements. You can also see beautiful gargoyles. And the porch protects the wooden statues of the 12 apostles. Finally, the steeple is domed, unlike the other pointed steeples. The church is open every day, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and you can get an explanatory booklet for the visit, at the entrance.
