This image taken earlier this year at the Logon au Bouef (Cow Pond) but in PP this month... this TCH is standing on the edge of the Mangrove in the morning perhaps deciding on sleep or food... tough choice... there was also some greenery between me and her when I shot...
Early morning at the Logon au Boeuf, this Tody and its two friends were zipping around the edge of the mangrove... always wonderful to see these colorful birds...
Early morning walk on the south side of the Logon aux Boeufs, northeast Haiti near the Dominican Republic, SPSA's seem solitary... they are not normally seen in mixed species groups here... yes, they seem... lonely (OK, apologies for the anthropomorphism)
Sometimes in the early morning when you see Stilits in the water you would think the scene is in B&W... then they fly and their red legs change the scene to color... at the Johnson's Etang in northeast Haiti... early morning, a largish (120-200) flock in residence there for the past two months move around the pond depending where local farmers and farm family members are near the pond edge... Another largish flock (100-150) is in residence at the nearby Logon aux Bouef... they also like to entertain and typically have Yellowlegs, Sandpipers, Egrets, Willets, and other wader/shore bird buddies in their flocks as well...
At the Logon au Bouef in northeast Haiti... these coots are plentiful and mix here with Common Gallinule, Pied-billed Grebe and Least Grebe... they seem to always to be seen at both the inland and ocean edge of the mangrove...
At the Logon aux Boeufs (Cow Pond - it sounds so much better "en francais")... this juvenile LBHE seems to me to be caught between wing-beats... "Regarde, Maman, je peux voler!"
In the northeast of Haiti near the DR border, a TCH is balanced upon a fence post, mid morning, near the mangrove, catching some rays, after some breakfast wading...
A le Logon au Boeuf, Nord est... just missing some seasonal red... it seems we can't have everything...
The big copper dome of Old Supreme Court which turned green due to oxidisation is one of the distinctive features of the old Supreme Court building. This building was the last Classical architecture building to be built on the former British colony. Hopefully it will remain as one of the finest monuments ever preserved in Singapore.

Instant magique ... mais ce coup-ci en rade de Brest ... et plus précisément, à la Pointe du Château à Logonna-Daoulas 😎
A le Logon au Boeuf, le Nord Est... near the border with the Dominican Republic... hustling through the acacia... doesn't mind the thorns...
First sighting of the year, just so striking, the orange and pink... 24 in a flock... also three Common Gallinule (Gallinula galeata) checking out the light show at this end of the lagoon...
Early AM at the Logon aux Boeufs, this SHCO was spotted on the non-mangrove, acacia side of our trail... this bird is an obligate brood parasite, and unfortunately a particularly effective one. It is reported that SHCOs contribute to the significant lowering of some host species numbers in some locations in South America and the Caribbean...
