Trent Lock is a major waterway junction where rivers and canals meet. It's a good spot to view one of England's awesome rivers - and a great place to spot boats ...situated on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire

Don't just let anyone grab it. Lock it up. Dealing with presidential overreach.

Since lock down there has not been one sigle boat on the Chesterfield canal. S. Yorkshire section.

Well, you can't touch a lot of San Diego, California due to Social Distancing and with many companies in lock down due to Covid-19. We are allowed to walk as long there is Social Distancing practiced here along the harbor side. Security guards are on vigil as is the Harbor Police to make sure we do not congregate... they do seem to leave what street people who preside on a bench along... perhaps they know how to survive better than those who are accustomed to the consumer good things of life.

Lock 35 on the Erie Canal. Lock 34 is right behind it. These are the first two locks boats encounter traveling east from Buffalo.

Taken at an open area where you could watch how houses in Norway looked back in the days. I took this picture only through a small hole in the door due to the door was locked.

The friendly conductor on Berkshire and Eastern Railroad train ED9 has lined the electrically locked switch off the industrial siding back for the main here just south of Elm St. at about MP S28.4. Having just finished spotting up two loaded hoppers at Nutrien Ag Solutions, as soon as the switch is locked back up they will head back light engine to gather the balance of their train left on the main to continue south to Hokyoke on the old Boston and Maine Conn River Main.

Note the hand painted station sign and the red house dating from 1870 which has been a backdrop to many glorious images of B&M blue GP9s on heavy through drags back when this route was a major freight corridor. While those glory days are gone, at least images like this are still possible which is better than so many other former B&M routes which are now just bike paths or dirt tracks in the woods...

Since Berkshire and Eastern Railroad has taken over operation of the Pan Am Southern property operations seem to have gotten much more predictable and consistent. At least outwardly their appears to be a bit more hustle and business seems to be on the uptick so hears hoping this this is a harbinger of even bigger and better things to come for the west end of the old Boston and Maine!

The Lock Warehouse, Gloucester Docks, seen from Castle Meads. 29th March 2009.

It was constructed in 1834 for the corn merchants J&C Sturge.

In 1979 the warehouse was converted into Gloucester Antiques Centre in which capacity it served until 2009. It has now been converted into residential apartments.

Actually, while I agree with the latter part of this statement, the first part isn't the greatest advice ever. It's inevitable that you'll get hurt if you open yourself up. Humans are most inventive of ways to fall short and fail others. But while it may never break, it will also never beat. Find a safe place to entrust your love: it will give you the strength to go forth and love, and a safe haven to return whenever you're smote.

We all love imperfectly, but to be human is to love.
