. . . . . and beneath the tights, plastic pants over a large nappy and, beneath that, the securely locked stainless steel Panties From Hell.

Algoma's Radcliffe R Latimer locks down through the Poe Lock as oyr tourboat locks up through the McArthur lock. In the background some of the construction work can be seen as the original 2 locks, which have been closed for years, are rebuilt and lengthened in a 10 year, billion $+ project to improve capacity at the Soo Locks.

The Radcliffe R Latimer was built in 1978 as the Algobay. The ship is 730' long and is powered by a pair of German Caterpillar diesels rated at just over 5,000 HP each. Fully loaded, the Latimer can carry 36,000 tons of cargo. Originally built to primarily haul coal for Ontario Hydro, the ship was converted in the late 2000s into a self-unloader and now hauls a variety of commodities. On this day, it was carrying a load of iron ore.

Lakeshore Park, Newark, CA. Egrets frequently peck at one another when they feel encroached upon. It's usually difficult to tell whether they actually make contact, but here these egrets managed to lock bills. The adult on the right had the added incentive of protecting the nest as its partner looked on.

Even desolation needs a locked door! What struck me was, of course other than the bicycle :P, the absolute darkness inside.
