Old and rather worn sluice lock on the river Dudwell.East Sussex.

Was originally known as Lockes Sidings, then when the spoil discharge site was built, it became Welbeck. Anyhow, 60072 is working a Leeds- Peak Forest stone empty.

Another lith re-interpretation of an older negative. I love how this one turned out, very colorful and nice tones overall!

The paper used here was ancient Revue BS 13 RC stock that was completely fogged. I couldn't even make a test strip as it would simply turn 100% black in normal developer. I ended up eyeballing/guesstimating the exposure time instead.

The print has a slight texture of microscopic black dots all over it. You can hardly see it on this upload.

I like this print much better than the direct negative scan I uploaded to Flickr a while ago.

Sometimes, life presents itself as a series of locks. When you find yourself in such a position, always trust your better judgement... and jump the fence~

Happy week ahead everyone! ;)

Leerstetten Lock on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. This lock is 90' tall and quite the invention of mankind, in my opinion. To let you know the size of it, our longship passed through the black hole at the bottom. Lucky we got here at the Golden Hour!

This is part of the Songo Lock, located on the Songo River between Sebago and Long Lakes. This is the sluice gates uded to lower and raise the water levels in the lake. The lock is part of an old canal finished in 1831, once used for transporting logs/lumber down to Portland for loading on ships. The canal is long gone, but this lock remains in operation to help get recreational boats between the two lakes. It is operated by the state park system. The actual lock is off to the left behind the island, and uses a hand operated wooden gate to contain the water.

As a child I once went through some locks on a narrow boat trip. It took us hours to cover a distance we could now do in hardly any time.

Jahrhundert.

After the Great Fire of 1842, the area of today's Rathausmarkt (City Hall Market), which had been largely built over until then, was completely redesigned. In this context, a basin, the Kleine Alster (Small Alster), was created at the mouth of the Alster, the Alsterfleet (Alster Canal), in front of the dam of the Schleusenbrücke (Lock Bridge), which was also new. The architect Chateauneuf, commissioned with the planning of the city’s rebuilding, designed an arcade in the Italianate style for the northwest side, whose original painting was ochre yellow according to new findings, but was later plastered white and has retained this characteristic appearance to this day. After various changes, the original state was restored in 1951, the color remained white. The Alster Arcades, together with the houses behind them, are considered a prominent example of so-called post-fire architecture.

The construction was carried out until 1843 in the course of the former Vogelswall, the five-story houses behind it were built in the following years until 1846. Only the corner house located directly on the Jungfernstieg was built only at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

I have no date for this, from a strip of negs found in the drawer! It's Lockes Sidings at Normanton, with 31308 on a freight. I guess around 1979.

To hold the horses, stable wood! LOL

Taken at and old farm, the wood, the rust, it was so attractive and fascinating, the tones and textures inspiring...
