Along the way and during my trip from Calgary, AB to Sechelt, BC, I stopped for a few shots. This one is the pier located in Salmon Arm, BC. The water is covered in ice but gave a rather interesting and somewhat foggy look. In the mountains beyond, clouds played in the rolling hills as they dodged the mountain tops and skirted the the edges below.

I don't get many House Sparrows on my woodland feeders they prefer the front of the house with the thick Laurel Hedge
So I was delighted with my Lock Down 2 visitor today the beautiful Tree Sparrow
I think this is a small vintage cupboard lock. I lucked out a little as I nearly used this object for last weeks theme as lock and key!

I came across this old lock on a woodland walk I went on recently. I'm not even sure what it's purpose is although it was nearby to an old water tap so I'm sure there was some connection there. My guess is that it hasn't had any action for quite some time. Somewhere I'm sure there is an antique looking key that no one still alive knows the purpose of. (I've got a lot of those lying around my house come to think of it.)
This was taken with a vintage Tamron 500mm mirror lens with a fixed aperture of f/8, a lens best known for it's 'donut' bokeh. This lens carries with it it's challenges due to the slowness of that f/8 aperture, so really only a lens for bright sunny days where getting enough light into the lens won't be a problem.Having said that it really is quite fun to use and one can control exposure to a degree with the combination of the camera's ISO setting and shutter speed (which for this lens really shouldn't be below 1/500th sec if one wants to avoid serious camera shake). But it's quite sharp for something as cheap as it currently sells for. Expect to pay 30 to 40 pounds for one in half decent condition.

Kloster - Schloss - Kirche
Im Jahr 1149 wurde das Benediktinerinnenkloster Willebadessen gegründet.
Diese Anlage wurde in späteren Jahren, vor allem während der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts, oft umgebaut und verändert: Die romanische Klosterkirche wurde umgestaltet, außerdem kam ein großer Teil der barocken Konventsgebäude hinzu, die noch heute an ihrem Platz stehen. Auch die verschiedenen locker um die Klosteranlage gruppierten Wirtschaftsgebäude wurden in dieser Zeit errichtet.
Im Zuge der Säkularisierung wechselte die großzügige Klosteranlage im Jahr 1810 die Eigentümer. Ab 1871 war sie der Adelssitz der Freiherrenfamilie von Wrede, die im Verlauf des 19. Jahrhunderts unmittelbar am Schloss einen kleinen Landschaftspark anlegte. Außerhalb der Klostermauern öffnet sich die Grünanlage hin zu weiten Wiesenflächen und Baumgruppen, die sich bis zu den Hängen des Eggegebirges erstrecken.
Die ehemalige Klosterkirche St Vitus wird heute als Pfarrkirche genutzt.
