Loading bank and siding at Tuggeranong. The mainline is in the foreground, although you can't see it for all the growth!
We walked down to Sunny Sands to meet Vince and Nature Sam to investigate the dead mink whale which had washed up earlier in the week.
As we were walking along the beach we could see V & S in the distance and then a white dot floating in the sea to our right caught my eye.
I used the zoom on the camera and spotted it was an adult herring gull just floating along in the water. It wasn't sitting as they ordanarily do, it's wings were down and it looked knackered.
There was only one thing to do.
I handed Leigh both cameras, emptied my pockets of phone, wallet, coins, keys etc, left the flip flops on the rocks and headed out.
The water was pretty muddy and it was random rocks all the way, but I made it out upto my shoulders and picked him up.
He looked pretty damn knackered so didn't put up any fight, so I could carry him back with one hand.
On the walk home he started to get some life back into him.
He is currently sectioned off in the front room and is fast asleep.
Nature Sam named him 'Seasick'
Jay, Al G and Rick are helping to load the baggage car at Utica for the Friday, August 26th, "Choo Choo Open "special.
I tried to load this probably 20 times and deleted most of them but these two turned out kind of cool so I left 'em for Selah
