Loading logs at one of the old logging sites in Northern Wisconsin. This is a photo from my slide collection.

12/6/2009. NS N10 heads north on the main past Maidsville Yard. Maidsville was once a bustling location on the Monongahela. With a switcher working both ends of the yard and many extras and turns originating and terminating here, it was one the MGA's busiest locations. Now Maidsville is home to crosstie loading and frac sand unloading.

Here is an example of how well PSK works with low power. Here I am copying 100% a signal from Warminster, PA into Fort Walton Beach, FL using my dummy load as the antenna.

The Marowijne River (Maroni in French) is the border river between Suriname and French Guyana. Albina is the town at the Suriname side. At the other side of the river is Saint Laurent du Maroni.

I took Laine's prompt and ran with it, writing a long essay about my transition to being a stay at home mom. You can read it if you view the page full size.

This was a great composition to get a good perspective shot, plus the coloring and vertical lines are cool too.

It is a bit rough and ready - not the greatest woodworking in the world, but it was only meant to be a prototype. What I've learned is to put the dark slide a bit closer to the film (the lips above the dark slide are a bit thin) - pay more attention to the plastic slides to secure the film (they aren't very accurate). Maybe make the septum from 3mm MDF or plastic? The plywood I used is disappointing. Very rigid in one direction, bend like paper in the other and it is very rough. The iroko worked really well (if that is what it is), Shame I only have half a shelf left. Alas - I can't test it yet! In a chicken and egg dilema - I haven't yet got a 9 1/2" camera...

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for awhile and today wa sthe day. But I am not sure if I really like the end product. There are elements of it that I love and there are elements I am just not sure of. One thing i do LOVE though is how the journalling worked out.

This is from Scrapmuse Feb kit that i got in the mail today. Love the kit. The sketch is also from one of the design team members in the Scrapmuse newsletter.

A better view of the Albertsons loading docks. Although this building is actually owned by a leasing company (Biagini Properties), it doesn't appear as though it's being maintained at all, hence why I tag it as being abandoned.

Loading the Norton at the sellers home. I was so excited I lifted the back of that bike myself right into the truck

Loading a fourteen-inch (360 mm) naval gun (14"/45 Cal). After loading the shell, the propellant (smokeless powder) bags are rammed home, the spoon is retracted, the breech closed, and the gun elevated as needed to hit the target.

The gun is horizontal, the breech is open, and the spoon has been lowered into the breech, for the shell to be rammed home.
