lots of flexibility! He is going to be very poseable!

Spent all of yesterday/last night cleaning and reorganizing my home office. This is what it looked like 2 years ago.Thought I'd take new pics with natural light and a better camera ;)

Hanson & Hall / RailAdventures 50008 'Thunderer' heads past Bissell Wood between Blakedown and Kidderminster with the 5Q96 Tyseley LMD - Long Marston West Midlands DMU move.

The unit between the two barrier vehicles is 196108 which is going for storage at the Porterbrook site.

Good to enjoy the company of Claggy, Kevin Payne and Sunshine Ray who, on this occasion, despite his excitement and prophecy failed to deliver!

5Z21 Wembley LMD - Bristol Barton Hill

Underneath a grey sky, DCR's 56103 leaves an ever-changing Wembley behind, hauling Chiltern mark 3 12613 to Bristol Barton Hill for its overhaul. After 68010 passed on a light loco move to Wembley (after coming down from Crewe earlier in the morning), Stora and her mark 3 companion crossed over onto the less regularly-used line towards Acton Canal Wharf and Acton Wells Jn. The move ran about 75 minutes early at the time of capture, a blessing in disguise as it meant I didn't have to wait around for ages for it to come through! Standing at the spot, however, and looking towards Wembley, only made me realise how much it has changed in the 11 years I've lived here...

head shown on the body. I may shorten the neck and make the tail longer.... still thinking on that one.

ok, back scales are done! Now I need to do some joint work on the feets and make the shoulders look nice where they meet the legs! I am super close to being able to test string with elastic! :D

With bright sun during the morning I set out early for an appointment in Solihull. I did not take the mobile because i know the train pattern by heart. Having got the intended shot it was worth nipping along the canal a bit to sort a shot "for next time". Then this happened, a 196 appeared running very slowly behind the previous train, well it would have been churlish to ignore it!

The train was 5Z22 the 10.38 Tyseley LMD to Tyseley LMD, the picture is the Stratford Canal between Whitlocks End and Shirley stations.

BACK FROM A DIRTY DAY OUT

Decending Battlefeild Bank on the outskirts of Shrewsbury are a rather grimy pair of Colas Rail Freight class 56's, 049 "Robin of Templecombe" and 078 top and tailing the Rail Head Treatment Train (RHTT) on route back to Coleham Lmd

The train commenced operations the previous night (wednesday) with a short section on the Cambrian Line before returning to do the stretch to Craven Arms, then onto the Bidston Branch via Wrexham, back to Shrewsbury then Crewe and finally the North Wales Coast route to Holyhead before returning back to Shrewsbury Coleham Yard some 18hours later only then to repeat the whole operation 6 hours later

Named: "Villach".

This aircraft was delivered to Austrian Airlines as OE-LMD in Mar-91. It was wet-leased to Dinar Lineas Aereas, Argentina in Dec-96 and returned to Austrian Airlines in Apr-97.

On 26-Feb-04 at Al Hoceima, Morocco, a wing was hit by a fuel truck, killing the truck driver and badly damaging the wing. It took two months to do a temporary repair and the aircraft ferried back to Vienna in Apr-04 where further repairs were carried out. The aircraft returned to service on 09-May-04.

The aircraft was withdrawn from service and stored at Zurich, Switzerland in Jun-05. It was sold to Aircraft & Engine Support LLC as N189AS in Sep-05. It was sold on to Stratus Investment Partners LLC in Dec-05 and leased to Map Jet, Austria as OE-LMH the following day.

It was due for wet-lease to Royal Wings, Jordan in Feb-06 but the lease was cancelled and instead it was wet-leased to Eritrean Airlines, short term, returning to Map Jet in Mar-06. It was wet-leased to FlyMe Sweden for 8 days in Mar/Apr-06.

Another short-term wet-lease took it Korek Air, Iraq in Apr/May-06. The aircraft was stored at Linz, Austria in Jul-07 awaiting a major overhaul.

This is where things get a little confusing. As far as I can make out, the aircraft was sold to Meelad Air, Jordan at some time during its overhaul (which took 10 months!!). In May-08 it was wet-leased to GainJet, Greece and was re-registered SX-DMH in Sep-08.

It was leased to Royal Falcon, Jordan as JY-JRC at the end of Nov-08 and returned to Meelad Air as SX-BLL in May-09. It was leased to Sky Express, Greece in Aug-09 and returned to Meelad Air in Nov-09 when it was abandoned at Stockholm-Arlanda, Sweden. It never flew again.

In 2017 it was seized by the Arlanda Airport Authority and presented to the Arlandagymnasiet Aircraft Academy of Sweden as an instructional airframe and is preserved. In Jun-20 it was given the fictitious Swedish registration SE-AAS. Updated 14-Mar-25.
