The tall ship Schooner Jolly II Rover was designed by Naval Architect Meritt Walter as a mercenary vessel and was built in 1994 by Bock Marine of Beaufort, North Carolina. The Rover’s hull is constructed out of steel and at 80′ long with her trademarks sails, topmast and square rig she is a magnificent sight under sail as well as sitting quietly dockside.
The amazing Schooner Jolly II Rover is proudly owned by Bill Malone and is operated out of Key West’s Historic Seaport. He purchased the Jolly II Rover in 2003 to fulfill a lifelong dream of operating a classic, square rigged, topsail schooner.
At the time of purchase, the Jolly Rover was in Fort Myers, Florida. With the help of enthusiastic friends, Bill sailed the Jolly Rover back to his adopted home of New Orleans. With his new team, “The Pirates of Lake Pontchartrain” he offered day and evening sails on Lake Pontchartrain with daily sailing trips, sunset sails and sailing charters.
Several years later you could say that fate intervened. Hurricane Katrina passed through New Orleans and blew the Jolly II Rover back to Florida where the tall ship belongs – among the traditional sailing ships, both mercenary & merchant, of the Historic Seaport of Key West.

Throughout the region, you'll find landscapes of desert areas including arid, semi-desert, hoodoos, sagebrush, rolling hills, dried golden grasses, clay cliffs, box canyons, gullies and prickly pear cacti. The grasslands between Merritt and Kamloops are made up of prairie-like rolling grasslands.

I'll follow you down through the eye of the storm
Don't worry I'll keep you warm
I'll follow you down while we're passing through space
I don't care if we fall from grace
I'll follow you down to where forever lies
Without a doubt, I'm on your side
There's nowhere else that I would rather be
I'm not about to compromise
Give you up to say goodbye
I'll guide you through the deep
I'll keep you close to me
Thank U David !!! U are gonna be missed a lot ...
He did manage to put out this vid a few days ago ...

What an amazing artist !
Have you ever desperately tried to photograph a feeling? I do it all the time. ;-) This verse from "Bob Dylan" played through my thoughts as I attempted to capture this image, as a storm approached. Did my best to create an image that appeared to be a pano when not a pano at all. Lol
Hope you all enjoy my efforts....I tried!
The Scuttlebug was designed as a mining and demolitions mech. Featuring two missile pods, laser cutters, and flexible manipulator arms, the Scuttlebug was equally capable of breaking rocks or decommissioned machinery.
"As the fragrance of the blossom petals softly fill the air,
The chances are you'll find me lazily dreaming out there
Somewhere in the apple orchard feeling quite sublime,
In the coolness of the evening at apple blossom time"

We'll leave the Low Head Lighthouse with this bookmark. It's obviously digital cut and paste and "Miss Flinders" (VH-UEE) is actually hanging in the terminal at Launceston Airport. It is the most famous aircraft in Tasmania's history.

I'll be appearing on the next episode of The Two Hosers Photo Show, and they've given me the weekly photo challenge.... "the longest day" (in honour of the summer solstice). Wide open to interpretation, and this is what I've come up with.
This image is photographed at The Wildflower Farm, a favourite location of mine to go shoot flower, insects and water droplets. Closed to the public, but they still let me poke around. One of the interesting things they have are these strange bicycle-based lawn mower contraptions. The front wheel is replaced with a grass-cutting blade apparatus, surely intended to make lawn mowing a faster task.... but it looks painfully labour intensive and time consuming.
Imagine cutting an entire field with a tool such as this? I think it would be the longest day of my life. Right behind this apple tree is a fledgling meadow, but the foreground grass is carefully manicured. I hope they aren't using these bikes to get the job done!
Oh, and this is a false-colour infrared image, shot with a modified camera. In infrared light, anything capable of photosynthesis typically glows brightly, giving a ghostly surreal look to the scene. The sky in this spectrum is often dark, and I was trying to frame the bright tree in the dark sky. This required me to set my tripod at nearly ground-level (thank you Gitzo for a removable center column) to find the right angle.
When shooting infrared, the camera will only capture the deepest reds in the visible spectrum, and also capture colours beyond our visual perception. These colours can be remapped into a range more natural to the way we see the world, usually done by swapping the red and blue colour channels as a starting point. I think I'll write a tutorial on my workflow in the near future. :)

This is a Japanese Iki Iki Hair Fair head made for the Iki Iki Living Doll Body... a Japanese market exclusive as I understand, but I can fimd no reference to it at all.... She is on a borrowed body from my Sears Action Accents Barbie for this picture only. She models Lamb 'N Leather beatifully in my opinion. Head is factory fresh, cello and hair string intact.

I am thinking about the struggles women/ children are faced with every day who are bravely fighting for their freedom and rights and hope they are soon liberated and live life in freedom and peace soon.

Snowdrop season
Aye – they’re back. And, they’ll be here for a while.
We went to the special snowdrop event at Branklyn Garden… and we were not disappointed. It was surprisingly busy for a frosty, but sunny, Friday morning.
The gardens don’t have big drifts of snowdrops. But, they do have a lot of varieties.
I didn’t take note of the names of the snowdrop varieties. So, I’ll give them my own name… starting with textured snowdrop.

[New image for the upcoming La Lune show at Haven Gallery! If you're interested in adopting this 12x12" wood-mounted, resin-glazed little beauty, please contact info@havenartgallery.com.
I wrote some lore for this piece that I *may* share later. For now, I hope you enjoy this eerie little moon goddess. <3
I'm heading to New York for a few days, for the La Lune show, followed by Iceland for a full week. I'll be traveling with my friend Redd Walitzki, and she and I will be creatively collaborating for the entire trip! I'll also be doing a mini polaroid print giveaway of pics I take while I'm in Iceland, so follow me on Twitter and IG, if you haven't already, and you'll be the first to know about that!]
Can't hid the hell I live in every day
You say its just a phase, I'll be okay
What you can't feel, must not be real…
I wear my heart here on my sleeve
But you can't see, no one sees…
This is killing me
I can barely breathe
No one knows what is inside of me
Too late to fit in, don't you dare pretend, You know what it's like, to watch the world outside
While you're buried alive…
