We'll finish this little series on the Rocky Cape National Park, starting with this view of the beach. There are a number of shacks in the area where people with long-term leases share the National Park. Most of these people only visit on holidays and generally go boating and fishing. If you look closely at this picture you will see the one mains power pole that takes power to the lighthouse.

This is a featheredge fence covered in algae, taken with the camera pointing downwards. And then I flipped it vertically. And then, for Sliders Sunday, I played with the colour sliders (Levels adjustment on individual RGB channels - that’s a new one for me :) ).

Well, that’s not exactly all.

It’s also an in-camera multiple exposure using three ICMs, the first two quite blurred, and Darken blend mode. To be honest this bit didn’t make a lot of difference apart from smoothing the lines.

I’ll post a link to the in-camera original for the ME/ICMs in the first comment.

Couldn't help but throw in that childhood song!

Here he is, the much aligned brood parasite, the Brown-headed Cowbird (male). That means that the female lays eggs in the nests of other birds and then takes off, leaving the other bird responsible for the raising of the Cowbirds' young. As I see it, Nature has its reasons, no matter how hard for us to understand.

This male was scurrying around like a madman as he searched for food and paid little attention to me. In the right light, the colours of the male are really lovely (IMHO).

In Aguas Calientes the hillsides are steep and the railway line runs along the bottom of the valley, which also happens to be a commercial district. I was surprised (although I don't know why) to see a mixed train standing in the street while men swarmed around unloading the freight cars. Prepare to see the unexpected in colourful Peru, you'll not be disappointed.

Tra i più evidenti castelli in val di Susa per chi transita in questo territorio, i suoi resti visibili oggi, cioè la torre rotonda e l'aula affiancata, costituiscono solo una parte di un complesso molto più vasto e imponente, la cui funzione era il controllo del transito di mercanti e eserciti lungo la Valle. Abbattuto in gran parte nel corso del XVIII secolo, con ulteriori crolli nel corso del XX, è attualmente in restauro.

It is no longer an aggressive heat, but an enveloping embrace that pervades the entire body, instilling a sense of peace and satisfying tiredness. As the sun disappears on the horizon, painting the sky with shades of orange and purple, this sensation of heat connects you deeply with the immensity of the desert, giving you a moment of pure wonder and melancholy.
