This is some of my first "Rotation Light Painting" using the Live Composite feature on Olympus digital cameras.
This is the view on West Street looking north from near the parking garage where the Tribute lights were positioned.

I finally got to take some close up night shots of the Space Needle. I noticed the elevators going up and down and switched to Live Composite for the light trails.

I could have used a wider lens here, but I only had primes in my bag and the next widest was a lot wider. It was good for the fountain, but not so much for the cityscape background.

I went back to Central Park last night with a wider lens for the second night of fireworks in the park. It was much cloudier the second night, which wasn't bad, but the smoke lingered in front of the fireworks, which was bad.

It's hard to sense the scale of the Air Force Memorial (it's 270 feet tall) in photographs if you haven't seen it before in person. I think this shot with the traffic trails gives the scene some scale.

Whitehorse is alive with Christmas lights. This image was taken on Front Street, looking towards Main. The big tree festooned with blue lights is located right at the foot of Main Street, in front of the WP&YR station.
I made my second trip to the WTC Observatory tonight. It was much less crowded than last time, but there were still people in front of almost every window.
This is a shot I could not get right on my first trip. I used an Ultrapod and it just did not give me enough height to clear the bottom of the window while pointing down. I also couldn't keep the image steady for long exposures. This time I brought a gorillapod to get more height and Live Composite worked.
I'm very pleased with the light trail patterns appearing on multiple streets. They're even reflected on the exterior of 200 West Street, AKA Goldman Sachs headquarters.

There were fireworks tonight on the Hudson off Pier 88. I met Claire and Company on JFK Blvd for the shoot. We took a long walk to get to this spot so the fireworks would line up with midtown in the background.

A later iteration of the foggy beach shot I posted earlier in the week. This was my favourite of all of them - it was almost dark, and I was using live composite mode - the camera was taking multiple shots of the highlights only.

Together we illuminated the „open-air supermarket“ at this extraordinary harvest festival in Munich/Germany.
Following a magnificent sunset the visitors of „Harvest good, everything ok?“ painted with their cellphone lights during a long exposure photo. The clearly visible faces belong to the Musicians of the evening (Young Chinese Dogs, Freddy González, Jason Serious, Violalilliemma & De Vadrahdn).
A big thank you to the organizers for the wonderful atmosphere and the visitors for participating at the photo performance.
More coming soon.

I wanted to center my camera over Pont d'Iéna, but the Eiffel Tower fence had a vertical bar right at the center point. I tried to skew the perspective with the Transform tool in Photoshop Elements, but it's hard to make fine tune adjustments.
I assume many of the smaller star bursts on the bridge and elsewhere on the ground are camera flashes pointed at the Eiffel Tower.

I wanted a focal length a bit longer than my Voigtlander 17.5mm for night photography. I could have gone with the Panasonic 15mm, but I decided on the Voigtlander 15mm M mount adapted to M43. This was my first time using this adapter and lens combination and it was a very tight fit on the adapter. I also found that the distance markers on the lens are now inaccurate. Infinity focus is somewhere around 3 feet with the adapter. It looks like very close focusing is lost with the adapter, but infinity focus is what I mainly want anyway.
As for the experimenting, I took shots between f5.6 and f8 and it seemed sharpest in between, f6.7 I guess. There is noticeable softness on the left and right sides, similar to the Nokton 17.5mm. It seems fairly sharp in the center, but I have to experiment some more with the focus distance. There are the sharp starbursts that seem to be evident with all CV lenses.
