OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA- created with a laser pointer and my hyper cat. Olympus live composite against my floor. My cat got some exercise I got kind of a cool shot.
I was experimenting with low light shooting again this morning and thought, when people go out to snap locations with their cameras, they are often looking for an aesthetic quality that appeals to some notion of beauty, or balance, or colour. The result, I think, is that we often neglect to photograph the more utilitarian, industrial, grungy, or day to day parts of a town. This photo was taken on the top end of Industrial Road in Whitehorse. It sure isn't the most classically photogenic quarter of the city, but it is a part of our city none the less.
Much better angle and time to spot today's ISS flyover. #SpotTheStation.

I've been to Washington DC quite a few times, so I wanted to try some different shooting locations. I've seen shots from down below the Arlington Memorial Bridge, but I couldn't figure how to get to the water's edge without crossing the highway. That's the only way I could see, so I walked across two roadways to get here. Fortunately, there were enough gaps in traffic that it wasn't too dangerous, but do this at your peril.

Canter, the beautiful new artwork by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott at the University of Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Easter Bush Veterinary Campus, 7 miles south of Edinburgh.
Best known for his fabulous 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures, The Kelpies, at the Forth & Clyde Canal in Falkirk, his latest sculpture of a heavy horse was unveiled on 2 May 2018 and reflects the original intent of the school, which was set up to help workhorses in the early 19th Century.
Here's a photo of Canter during the day.
One more from last night in Central Park. I think the next fireworks in Central Park will be prior to the New York Marathon in the Fall.

Trying the live composite mode, which differs substantially from a long exposure or double exposure function. Sadly, it only offers JPG output.
