The last list of the year, my list of favourite Christmas traditions. I gessoed over a Christmas mailer from Bath and Body Works, Wrote the title with a soft charcoal pencil then went over it with a wet brush. Picked up that from Donna D. Added the stripes in water colours. I should have stopped there. I did the reverse in shimmery water colours, and thought I should use those same shimmery colours on this side. So I went over my stripes, but didn't like the shimmer as well on this side as on the back. Oh well!
From a side on view of the abbey, you can see how tall and how long the main altar would have been. It's amazing that most of this part still stands even despite Henry VIII's instruction to destroy all monasteries.
