Sítio Roberto Burle Marx é o 23º bem brasileiro a integrar a Lista do Patrimônio Mundial da Unesco, o Sítio é um laboratório de experimentações botânicas e paisagísticas que sintetiza a obra do arquiteto paisagista e artista Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994).
O Sítio Burle Marx foi reconhecido na categoria de Paisagem Cultural, na qual se enquadram bens que referenciam a interação entre o ambiente natural e as atividades humanas, resultando em uma paisagem natural modificada.
Situado a oeste do Rio de Janeiro, o local incorpora um projeto de sucesso desenvolvido ao longo de mais de 40 anos pelo arquiteto paisagista e artista para criar uma “obra de arte viva” e um “laboratório paisagístico” usando plantas nativas e com base em ideias modernistas. Iniciado em 1949, o jardim apresenta as principais características que definiram os jardins paisagísticos de Burle Marx e influenciaram o desenvolvimento de jardins modernos internacionalmente.

Originating as the vicarage in the 1830's, the house is in sandstone with a hipped slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays with corner pilasters, and there is a lower bay to the left. The windows are sashes. In the centre is a single-storey porch with Doric pilasters and a cornice. The doorway has a fanlight with a segmental arch.
