Whoa, did some of the linework burned off during the scanning process?
Sketched with a 0.3 (cm? mm?) Pilot Hi-Tec-C which I bought in Japan over the winter holidays. They're called G-Tec-C4 here in Canada and only available in the 0.4 size.
The 0.4 one is what I've been using for the past few sketches and I'm quite fond of it, but this 0.3 might be a bit too thin for my liking. I could barely control my strokes and trying to hatch in areas was a chore. Obviously, the pen is good for making tiny sketches though, and I wasn't making any effort to draw any smaller than I usually do...
Selection from the book - Illustrations by Sydney R. Jones worthy of study and emulation, wonderful linework and tone variety.
I must really hate myself. I have to carve all these out, then I have to clear the negative space. 30"x20"
The linework is printed from a sintra plate on top of a drawing (graphite, conte, gesso and cobalt blue acrylic paint) on Rives BFK.
no linework, just crosshatching.
