Finger limes, Microcitrus australasica are an Australian species of citrus native to rainforests. They have been in widespread cultivation for about ten years.

The vesicles in the fruit unlike lemons and ordinary limes are crunchy. They taste like ordinary limes. These fruit are 1.8 in long.

For the Macro Mondays theme: citrus.

HMM and happy new week!

Thanks for visiting. I am most grateful for the very kind comments and faves.

My internet speed is a bit faster than it has been lately so I am trying to catch up. I still find that sometimes my comments and faves are not recorded immediately. I don't know if this is because my internet is slow or whether it is a problem with Flickr.

A lemon (or lime) battery is a simple battery often made for the purpose of education. Typically, a piece of zinc metal and a piece of copper are inserted into a lemon and connected by wires. Power generated by reaction of the metals is used to power a small device such as a light-emitting diode. (Disclaimer: My hubby didn't really believe this would work, so he hooked up the diode to a pair of AA batteries, with a little resistor. The zinc nail, and the copper coil are just for photogenic effect!)

Lime E-bikes are all over Sydney.

All you need is the app on your mobile phone.

Using the app you locate a bike, ride it wherever, pay for the usage and then leave it.

Quite amazing.

But anyway, I just walk, lol.

I discovered this Lime E-bike on the walkway up above Circular Quay. I think it was getting ready to view the Vivid light show at 6.00pm.

Macro Mondays - Citrus

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Papilio demoleus, is a common and widespread swallowtail butterfly. Common names include Common Lime Butterfly, Lemon Butterfly, Lime Swallowtail, Small Citrus Butterfly, Chequered Swallowtail, Dingy Swallowtail, and Citrus Swallowtail.

It gets its common names from its host plants, which are usually citrus species such as the cultivated lime. Unlike most swallowtail butterflies, it does not have a prominent tail. The butterfly is a pest and invasive species from the Old World which has spread to the Caribbean and Central America.

Male. The male is slightly smaller than the female and more strongly marked.

Take a glass, add a lime and tonic water, illuminate it all and shoot with a macro lens and you too can create a crazy shot like this. I really was going for something less abstract but decided to just have some fun with all of the bubbles. It has been one of those mornings where I have had a difficult time finding inspiration but alas a 365 project knows no rest.

taking at lime street thanks for on the way home from the lakes i will be caching up over the next few days thanks for looking paul

Part of Lime Tree Avenue, Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire January 2022

... for April Fools theme Macro Monday.

In my backyard. Citrus trees are blooming.

The Beta, our favorite coffee shop in Cody changed locations, but kept its funky flavor.

An avenue of pollarded lime trees is quite often a feature in the formal gardens of historic houses of a particular epoch. It was fashionable - the pollarded trees have limited stature but dense clouds of verdant leaves. In the heat of summer, it’s ideal for a romantic walk or a secluded lover’s tryst. It’s not bad in the normal rain either.

This was taken last month in the gardens of Athelhampton House in Dorset. We found it a fascinating visit (we returned for a second visit the day after having done the house first).

The young woman in the picture is pushing a child’s buggy, though, so I think that we’re probably a bit later in the story ;)

This wobbly is a two-second exposure, which gave me a chance to make two camera movements: a down and an across in a cross shape. It’s an interesting result though a little contrasty because of the bright sunlight. I like the ghosts everywhere, at least one pushing a buggy…

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy 100x :)
