Once upon a time, my husband and I had three short stays in Lima: before and after walking the Inca Trail, and again after a trip to the head of the Amazon (more on those travels some other day), and were based each stay at a charming hotel in the beautiful coastal suburb of Miraflorés.
This let us explore some of the sights around Lima.

Every night the Circuito Mágico del Agua takes place in downtown Lima, where the collection of fountains are lit up by water and lazer shows. It's a great place to hang out and relax with the wonderful colours and shadows. In this photo a silhouette of a couple can be seen walking in front of the fountain which gives an impression of the tranquil vibe.

09.10.18. Av. Pedro de Osma, Barranco. Lima "97" is the only remaining tram in Peru and was rescued from the scrapyard in 1996 by the Museo de la Electricidad and restored in 1997 (hence the fleet number). It represents cars built for Lima by Breda (Italy) in the 1920s and operates along a short restored section of line along Av. Pedro de Osma in the Lima suburb of Barranco. Frustratingly, the tram was not running at the time of my visit, but was being kept clean by staff.
