The Basilica Metropolitan Cathedral of Lima and Primate of Peru, otherwise Lima Metropolitan Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the Plaza Mayor of downtown Lima, Peru. This third and current Cathedral of Lima was built between 1602 and 1797. It is dedicated to St John, Apostle and Evangelist.

When the Spaniards arrived, they brought with them European influences in the architecture and artwork of the cathedrals they built in Peru. here is a tiny sampling of what can be seen walking the streets of the Old Town in Lima. This is a protected UNESCO site.

OK, so it is not a steam engine, but it came from Lima Locomotive Works Shovel and Crain Division, see the builder's plate, which appears to be actually cast with the frame. One of those fascinating finds one stumbles onto; couldn't get it started, looks like a fun toy with lots of pedals and levers for the operator to enjoy. Based on preliminary research this is likely a pre-WW2 piece of equipment.
