The Translators Memorial Monument
Octagonal perpendicular Gothic tower memorial loosely derived from the Eleanor Crosses, with a Crucifix finial over lantern cupola. Flank statues on pedestals with green marble tablets incised with text below each statue, above each statue is a coat of arms. Around the base the inscription:
this tercentenary memorial of the translation of the bible into welsh by bishop morgan was erected by national subscription a.d. 1588 - 1888
The central figure is Richard Parry, Ph.D. Bishop of St Asaph 1604-1623 Author of the revised translation, 1620
Behind the scenes at the Custom House Tower last night. Don’t worry, its tethered to the railing - safety first! Also, the magnetic feet on the tripod helped it grip nicely to the metal railing even with the heavy Rokinon 12mm lens.
This behind the scenes shot was taken with my iPhone 6s using Lightroom Mobile’s new HDR raw feature, which did a great job showing both the very bright picture on the screen (I had left my camera in “sunny weather” display mode) and the dark background behind it, and still gave me a raw file where I could adjust the highlights, shadows, and contrast more after the fact. Love this feature!
One of the pics from my holiday to the Yorkshire Dales a few weeks ago.
Also the reason it's taken me this long to begin to upload these pics is because Lightroom refused to sync with the app for the longest time and I didn't want to re-edit the pics as I was happy with what I had.
A stunning wee water lily on a lochan guarded by hordes of ravenous blood sucking ticks... Oh the joys of a Scottish summer!
I pass this structure at times. However, with a stormy day Saturday I took a few images of this building. When converted into black and white, the drama came out! Plus kudos to the groundskeepers for giving me leading lines!
Varlens / Auto Mode / CLASSIC NEG
Lightroom Mobile.
When you leave the campsite at the back, you find these kind of hidden treasures. The best camera in my pocket was my phone, so with a little tweaking this phonephoto looks marvelous
Taking my first walk around since arriving to Portsmouth UK at night. It has been raining all day. Something that I guess I will have to get use too. Very pleasant night as well and will be posting more soon. Very light editing with Lightroom Mobile with this one.
