El dÃa esta brumoso y lloviendo, como no cesaba de llover cogimos un paraguas grande e intentamos hacer fotos al del lago, pensando en intentar capturar esa atmósfera de misterio que tienen los bosques y los lagos con la bruma y la niebla....

El lago de Sanabria es el mayor lago de origen glaciar de la penÃnsula ibérica, con 318,7 ha y una profundidad máxima de 53 m. Además, y dispersas por la sierra, se pueden encontrar más de una veintena de lagunas, diversos cañones demostrativos de la misma acción glaciar cuaternaria e innumerables cascadas y regatos que han dado origen a una zona con increÃbles valores estéticos y paisajÃsticos.

El lago Calabazosa (550 m largo / 375 m ancho) se encuentra en los lagos de Saliencia y pasa por ser el lago más profundo de Asturias ya que llega casi a los cincuenta metros.

La roca caliza que ha dado lugar a esta maravilla, se originó en la Era Primaria, en el PerÃodo CarbonÃfero hace más de 300 millones de años. Sin embargo, no es el origen de la roca, sino los procesos sufridos lo que convierte a este "Ambiental-Hito" en un un lugar de ensueño.
La acción conjunta de las aguas de lluvia infiltrándose y disolviendo la caliza por grietas, pasadizos y galerÃas y de las olas del mar penetrando por el otro lado de esas grietas y galerÃas, haciéndolas más grandes y llenándolas de colores gracias a la acción de las algas microscópicas, ha dado lugar a unas preciosas formaciones que tendremos que observar detenidamente, dentro y fuera de la cueva.

This eveing's moon over the Lions Gate Bridge and Vancouver Harbour was still visible as blood red.
The only editing was to bring out a bit more light so the water and lights could be visible. The moon was a perfect blood red.

La erosión que provoca el agua y el viento, los impactos, el vulcanismo y la meteorización quÃmica actúan para disgregar la roca y convertirla en suelo y polvo. El viento y el agua son también agentes efectivos ordenando las partÃculas del suelo en depósitos de distintos tamaños del que las dunas son un gran ejemplo. La naturaleza de las superficies que observamos nos dice mucho sobre la historia del planeta.

It started with the rain yesterday, then froze overnight, continued with ice pellets all day today and then came the snow as a topping. More to come later? It was impossible to walk out there.
View is from my closed window, we cannot even step on the balcony for fear of loosing our footing on the ice pellets.

El Monasterio de los Jerónimos de Santa MarÃa de Belem es un antiguo monasterio de la Orden de San Jerónimo y que se ubica en el barrio de Belén, en Lisboa, Portugal.
Diseñado en estilo manuelino por el arquitecto Juan de Castillo, fue encargado por el rey Manuel I de Portugal para conmemorar el afortunado regreso de la India de Vasco de Gama, se fundó en 1501 en la antigua ermita fundada por el Infante D. Enrique. La primera etapa constructiva de la iglesia nueva comienza en 1514 y fue ampliándose y modificándose hasta el siglo XX. Se financió gracias al 5% de los impuestos obtenidos de las especias orientales, a excepción de los de la pimienta, la canela y el clavo, cuyas rentas iban directamente a la Corona.

En la naturaleza existen animales con todo tipo de sistemas visuales. Con párpados y sin ellos, ojos dobles, simples y complejos… Y cada uno proporciona una visión del mundo muy diferente. Está claro que los ojos de cada ser vivo están diseñados y proporcionan la información que éste necesita, en función del entorno en el que se mueve, de sus depredadores, de su alimentación… Por ejemplo, en el caso de los peces su visión está adaptada al medio acuático, pero las caracterÃsticas concretas de sus ojos dependerán de la profundidad en la que se mueven o de si son o no depredadores. En general, los peces tienen una visión envidiable ya que sus ojos están entrenados para ver bajo el agua, ver en la oscuridad y captar detalles a grandes distancias. Algunas especies acuáticas, incluso, tienen visión ultravioleta (una longitud de onda más corta que la visible para los seres humanos), que les permite captar más información del ambiente que les rodea y asà aumentar su supervivencia.
