One fine evening, I’ve had enough of sitting in a chair and look through the window. I wanted to go out drink coffee and sit in a crowded cafes with their dazzling lights. After, I went walking by the pond, I saw a yellow light in the pond of the city hall.

Mont Saint Michel is a small rocky islet, roughly one kilometer from the north coast of France at the mouth of the Couesnon River, near Avranches in Normandy, close to the border of Brittany. It is home to the unusual Benedictine Abbey Church (built between the 11th and 16th centuries) which occupies most of the one kilometer diameter clump of rocks jutting out of the ocean.
It is connected to the mainland via a thin natural land bridge, which before modernization was covered at high tide, and revealed at low tide. Thus, Mont Saint Michel gained a mystical quality, being an island half the time, and being attached to land the other : a tidal island.
In 708 the Archangel Michael appeared to Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, and commanded him to build a chapel on the top of Mont Tombe, a rocky island in the middle of an immense bay. Overawed by this apparition, Aubert obeyed and built a sanctuary to the glory of God and Archangel Michael.
Throughout its long history, Mont Saint Michel has had many roles. First a religious sanctuary with its monastic communities, it became a place of worship with its immense pilgrimages, a centre of intense academic activity with its production of manuscripts and illuminations, a symbol of national resistance with the glorious feats of arms of its knights and a formidable prison when the priests were ousted in the French Revolution of 1789, putting an end to the religious vocation of Mont Saint Michel.

"Fields Of Gold"
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in the fields of gold
So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in the fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in the fields of gold
We'll walk in the fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in the fields of gold
When we walked in the fields of gold
When we walked in the fields of gold

HELLO 👋, MY NAME IS BART ROS. And I am an architecture, interior and city photographer working in the Deventer and Overijssel region.

And I am an architecture, interior and city photographer working in the Deventer and Overijssel region. You can find me almost daily on the IJssel or in the historic streets of our Hanseatic cities in the Netherlands. Busy bringing you unique images. We can use these images together for marketing purposes and online media. In addition, I make books and calendars of my photography, I teach and I have fun photo walks several times a year.
As a photographer I am based in Deventer; a beautiful historic city, surrounded by nature. The result of my love for photography and the city of Deventer is the 'Deventer calendar' with 12 unique photos and city views of Deventer and the surrounding area. And a book about Deventer with even more unique images called "Extraordinary Deventer 2: Deventer and Surroundings".
I am originally a multimedia engineer and graphic designer, but since a few years I have also focused on photography. From a young age I have always been drawing, painting and taking apart radios, TVs and old cameras. I combine these technical and form-technical interests in my professional life by developing websites, graphic design and photography. As a photographer I can capture the world as I see it.

It seems so :-) Anyway, it looked like this on my desk ... In the dark, with two light sources – guess which one? ... That's right, twice bike lights in red and white ;-) And they illuminate small balls that are sprinkled with fine glittering mica, which stays more or less ...

-The Number 9 Coal Mine was opened in 1855 by the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company. It was the World’s Longest-Operating Coal Mine. The mine featured miles of tunnels and went as far as 800 feet below the surface. It produced a significant amount of anthracite coal from the Panther Valley’s Mammoth Vein in Carbon County, PA.
In 1972, the mine was officially closed. 1992, 20 years after closing for business, the Number 9 Coal Mine was opened for tours to those wanting to learn more about this industry that built Northeastern Pennsylvania. - (Source: Uncovering PA)
Thank you so much for visiting and comment!
I really appreciate it!
Laowa 2X Super Macro
These are 3" x 3" Post-It Notes that have been rolled in half and held together with a paper clip. The light source is a large window at the top left. The 3 main circle-top areas are less than 1.5" total width, so the estimated total width is less than 2.5" W. It's fun to turn the paper and adjust the camera to see numerous views of the same subject. Plus, the super macro lens allows me to get very close to the subject, and the depth-of-field is extremely shallow. This lens blurs the background at f/8.0 or less, but unfortunately doesn't record the depth-of-field in the EXIF data. I'm guessing this is f/4.0 or lower. I'm a rookie with this lens and have plenty to learn. But, I like that it allows me to think "outside the box". In other words, it's fun.
Please have a great day.....

For this topic, I chose tiny glass bottles (18mm high in total and 9 mm wide) that I filled with water colored with food coloring. Unfortunately, the bottle necks are so narrow that I had to fill them with a syringe several times until the mixtures were right, which resulted in my sink looking like a nuclear explosion had taken place!😉
Digital Photo Magazine Interview
"Venice :: How I Got The Shot"
How long have you been taking pictures?
I’ve been taking photos for as long as I remember. I've always had a camera tho' I began taking photographs professionally in 2005.
What's your favourite kind of photography, and does this image fit into it?
Typically, I gravitate toward night photography, reflections, and motion. When there is opportunity to combine the three, all the better. Venice provides sublime opportunities for reflection photography, especially at night. Too, many of my urban shots tend to be void of people which reflects the quiet I strive to find in every day life.
Tell us about what made you want to shoot this particular picture?
This particular scene attracted my eye not only for its reflection, but also for the long lines leading to a vanishing point, which allows a viewer to be drawn into the image. Additionally, the “super moon” was illuminating the sky offering a beautiful blue hue to the sky and adding a bit of extra natural light.
What equipment did you use to capture the shot - type of camera, lens, tripod, etc?
A Canon 5D Mark IV with a 18mm wide angle Carl Zeiss lens was used to capture this photograph. Rarely, while travelling, do I use a proper tripod. The camera was steadily planted on a pavement stone at the edge of the canal.
