One person who saw this said it reminded them of the light pole in Narnia.

A lamp post at sunset in Rome. I'm sure this was taken after walking up a steep hill from a famous monument, but I'll be buggered if I can remember which one...

This American Kestral was photographed on a lightpost above the old Hughes facility that was the home of the famous Spruce Goose built by Howard Hughes. The Kestrels nest on the north facing slope in Palms south of what was the Hughes runway. The area where the runway used to be is now mostly openspace and rthe Kestrels can be heard and seen hunting there as well as along north facing slopes where they can be seen gracefully kiting and dropping to the ground catching lizards and insects.. The Playa Vista mega developers are preparing to build their second phase on this openspace while there is litigation presently in the courts to stop them.

ds106 daily create for Sept. 10, 2013: "Create an interesting high contrast black and white image of an easily overlooked object."

This object was so overlooked in my new apartment that I couldn't find it for awhile, despite looking. Not where I thought it would be.

I made this photo of a seagull on a lightpost in the parking lot of a store after grocery shopping. It was a gloomy day and seagulls tend to move off the coast when bad weather is approaching. I shot this from a distance using my Canon Powershot SX50.
