Day 241 - So for the past little while it just seemed like a chore to get these photos done, that was until I snapped this guy up. Now you might ask all I see is blurry, well I will say maybe the best photos are those that are abstract, guessing or interpreting is the best thing. Now the canvas is of course the city centre library if you have not already guessed, I focused on the light post as best as I can as to get the effect I want, since it was not bright enough to get the light haloing from the sun, I actually thought about that last night, and looked it up on the internet as to how to get that effect. Well the sun was not out so I used the an artificial light source.
The movie let out early enough for me to catch the Oilers game, down 2-1 after 40, the Oilers put on a clinic in the 3rd and won the game 6-3. It was pretty good 3rd period I will say.
Now just looking forward to my company's Christmas party tomorrow night.
Anyways moving on, it was date night in our household, not the normal date night, as we normally hit up the grocery store and watch a little tv then go to bed. Tonight we went out for dinner and caught a movie. Which movie you ask? The Muppets yes we purchased the costco movie night out pass, where for $25 we had 2 admissions 2 regular beverages and 1 regular popcorn. The theater was full of little kids, that is ok after all we are still young at heart! Wifey so enjoyed the movie, so did I, it was laughs all the way through.

Treated with "old paper" lighting effects, and the shiny and metallic filters. I like the slightly "silvered" effect of this as well as the texture of the old paper filter. A bit like looking at an old battered photograph
In addition to using the glass blocks, liquify, and lighting effects I also manipulated the hues and saturation. The effect reminded me of molten gold or gold leaf.

Applied the shiny and metallic effects followed by the circle of light spotlight which has white, yellow, blue, and red spotlights that you can manipulate. I dropped the white light as it was too harsh and I wanted a 1960's techni-colour effect.

quiet weekend. reading, working on a photography experiment in my spare time, thinking about the ways in which Norway has been inducted into the kind of tragedy that has become all-too-familiar, then getting quiet again.
The moon was already full in the sky as the sun died and left a copper glow that reflected on the trees. I took this photograph of the moon through the branches of a tree because I liked their shapes against the sky. It has been manipulated in photoshop. I've added an omni spotilght over the moon as it appears in my original because my point-and-shoot does not handle zoom very well, and because it adds light to the image. I tend to under-expose low light images to avoid too much noise. I've used the shiny and metallic effects to enhance the lighting.

This is the original photgraph. It was cropped to remove houses and cars and leave a silhouette of the tree against the sunst sky. I liked the black outline of the tree against the pinks and mauves of the eveing sky, and the way the tree is reflected in the window.
