Practice session with a borrowed diamante bracelet/cuff to try different macro/lighting effects with my new Kenko extension tube and 50mm lens. Cuff was lit from below (placed on an Eveready Dolphin torch) and then lit at different angles and lengths of time with a keyring LED. Different colours not Photoshop, but by varying the lighting angle/time.

Scale: cuff is approx 3cm wide, so each crystal just under 3mm across.

Equipment: Nikon D200, Nikor 50mm f/1.8 lens, Kenko extension tube 20mm 12mm, tripod

The "reticulated" version was manipulated with one of the effects under spherise or ripple that you can apply to just the vertical or horizontal access. The result was this checkerboard of black white and grey. If you apply the sphere effect to this you get the concentric circles and radials in the mandala images.
