I loved the pattern in the wires, and the detail as well. I duplicated the photo and flipped it horizontally. I then duplicated this and applied different effects with multiplier and hard/soft lighting. I then used the polygonal lasso tool with a very strong feather (144 pixels) and applied different hues. I adjust contrast a bunch to try and make the colors pop. Here is a link to another edit I did of this photo:

Rock star. Lego mini-figure from series 7, I set up this photo using a sheet of white paper to make a continuous backdrop and a usb strip light to light the figure from the front and create the multiple shadows in the background, like stage spotlights.

The the star-like effect is caused by "Asterism". Asterism is generated by reflections of light from twin-lamellae or from extremely fine needle-shaped acicular inclusions within the stone's crystal structure. A common cause is oriented sub-microscopic crystals of rutile within the gem mineral.
