A light bulb moment.
Did you know that many people (probably around 20) invented the light bulb before the Thomas Edison version? Edison did invent the first commercially practical version.
This time, I decided that I'd go more realistic with my acrylic painting, and I also played around with the bokeh effect. I'll probably stay more with the looser, more abstract style at least for now. Of course, me being me, I may change my in the next five minutes or so, lol.

A spare incandescent lightbulb lying around in my room after it's place been been taken over by a more efficient one.
This light bulb is more than 40 years old. I “discovered’ it in my basement during cleanup. Its highly reflective surface provided a fascinating challenge. After some experimentation, I ended up placing it under sunlight next to a window. The resulting shot showed a rich combination of colours, with the reflections of the window contrasting the lighted filament. The black background further accentuated overall effects.
Strobist info: Darkfield backlighting for glass. Triggered with PW's. Whitecard to bounce some light on threaded cap, which was gobo'd as not to spill on glass. My boyfriend was kind enough to make me a resistor so that the tungsten would not add to the exposure.
Working on a shoot tonight but I just shot and edited this while killing some time waiting for the client to arrive. I have a fascination with old style bulbs and will be using this bulb for a conceptual photoshoot later this week (if the idea pans out). I thought about doing the photo over after cleaning up the bulb but I feel like the fingerprints give it an outer space look.
