Sometimes, the 150W incandescent light bulbs I use make crazy patterns on the glass when they burn out. This one was particularly spectacular.
Contructive criticism is highly appreciated.

watch this! so worth it!
I have so many ideas for photos this year (note the lightbulb)!
But considering it's 365 days, I better not use take them all in one day. ;)
Okay, I actually lied when I say I took it January 2nd.. but I needed the lack of light at night! I just edited it all this morning. I was trying to look for a tutorial on how to make the light bulb lit, couldn't find one, so i just went with the flow.
The "incandescent lamp"
Less than a year after he developed the first practical light bulb, Thomas Edison designed this version, the first to have all the essential features of a modern light bulb: an incandescent filament in an evacuated glass bulb with a screw base. The most critical factor was finding the right material for the filament, the part inside the light bulb that glows when an electric current is passed through it. Edison tested more than 1,600 materials, including coconut fiber, fishing line--even hairs from a workers' beard. Finally, Edison decided to use for the filament: carbonized bamboo.
While my camera was in the shop, I fell back to fiddling around in Blender to stay creative.
These are purely random things I created during speed modeling/rendering over my lunch breaks.
This is a lightbulb being smashed by a hammer. The trigger is an electric eye which is out of the shot.
Taken in front of my sunshine lamp. I originally intended to do something else so I've managed to leave the camera on a really high ISO. Thought this looked cooler though.
Only edit was a bit of cropping.
Typical dark field lighting for this picture, I went for a very minimalist shot. At some later stage, I will learn how to light the bulb with a battery and attempt this again. This is my entry for a Printspace competition on FB, theme "Reflection"
Strobist
Nikon SB28@1/4 power - Ezybox 80cmx80cm softbox
Black card infront of softbox diffusion material, to create darkfield effect
Bulb was placed on a long shiny acryllic surface
Triggered with Cactus v4
PP in ALR 3.6 and PS CS 5.1 (to slightly diffuse the reflection and enhance glow on lightbulb)
Bits inside the bulb removed during PP because they weren't lit so were not adding anything to the image IMO.
This was the first design I made for the Offf festival, and the first for my personal graphic project Urban Myth.
