Another shot of the bald eagle that I saw yesterday while out for a drive.

I can hear the rain again

Baby I'm looking down

Then back at you

Where you goin'?

Tell me, don't you want to see it through?

Oh it's tearing me apart

When your heart goes

Into silence

And I just want to hold you

When your spirit breaks in two

Hey baby

I wanna lift you up

Hey baby

I wanna lift you up

Love lives on forever

The thunder never lasts

So hold on, don't you worry

The sun is coming back

Hey baby

I wanna lift you up

In the distance

I can see it in your eyes

You're fading out

Head is underwater

Honey, don't you know?

You walk a solid ground

We can head into the dark

And I will follow

Right beside you

And when the night is falling

Won't let it get the best of you

Hills at sundown.

Driving home from work, I stopped to take some shots of this beautiful scene. Lovely to sit in the stillness and wonder of a late autumn sunset.

The summer fog gradually lifted on this Waikato dairy farm east of Hamilton. Not that the cows seemed to notice. In stark contrast to their curiosity when I first got out of the car, which saw them march en-masse to the fence to check me out. Apparently I didn't hold their interest for long!

Many thanks as always for your views, and welcome comments.

This dragonfly is "ON the FORK", but is also lifting off with it!

This is the result of an idea I had for this week's theme, which is proving to be extremely difficult and time consuming to do. It is not without its problems, and needs more work. But I decided to submit it "as is" now to get it posted on time in the Smile on Saturday group. I hope it will nevertheless bring a smile to you when you see it!

Theme: "On Forks"

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo, and for the faves and comments you make, thank you.

Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg

The Prussian eagle has been emblazoned high above the Dortmund-Ems Canal on the imposing towers of the Henrichenburg ship lift in Waltrop for 120 years. To this day, the steel elevator for ships has lost none of its fascination. It was built to overcome a 14 meter high canal step. The plant was in operation for more than 60 years. Today the landmark is a popular destination with a water playground and boat tours. It offers a variety of opportunities to explore life and work on the water.

For those that aren't familiar with London this is the Greenwich foot tunnel. It runs under the Thames and connects Greenwich with the Isle of Dogs, leading onto Canary Wharf a mile or two beyond. At both ends of the foot tunnel is a lift plus a set of stairs. I used to know the exact number of steps to get to street level because when I was still working my folding bicycle and I used to go through this foot tunnel twice a day and more often than not one or both of the lifts would be out of service. Not sure how reliable they are these days but what I can say is when I used it on my recent visit it was working just fine. So this is me up against the wall of the lift shooting back through the glass doors towards the tunnel just as the doors have closed.

With all the heavy snow and rain we have had recently here in England, the marshes near home was flooded never seen this place like this before and maybe I will never see it again and to top that fog as well!

I the top half is the original and the rest is obviously photoshopped but I feel that this is more the direction that I am heading for, making my photography more of an art form than just a straightforward image, some of you may not care for this type of vision but please let me know what you think?

Because, sometimes, I just gotta go high contrast.

A creative mind can spot things that others not see or not see in the first place or time watching at things for the first time. When I composed this shot I saw a lift off moment of a rocket looking down from below the thrusters, In other minds it's just a shot of two building :) I just love creativity and architecture. This photo shows 'Lift 109', a glass domed lift that rises through the middle of the north west chimney of Battersea power station.

This gives stunning 360° views of London.

It is called lift 109,because it is 109m to the top of the chimney.

It had only been open to the public for six weeks when this was taken.

As you can see, on this day, it was also offering good views of the Moon too!
