It was an extraordinary day this day. A life butterfly, the beautiful Red Admiral, out front in God's garden for goodness sake! How wonderful for this old broad too sick to get out anywhere.
Then, no camera or photo, but from my cats' bedroom looking out back, a gorgeous male Baltimore Oriole flew in and landed on a feeder. For maybe 5 seconds. Not even long enough for me to make a bolt to the cameras. But it was a life bird (well the male part, I had one female a couple of years ago). Still so blessed to see such a beauty. I'm a photographer though ...
And then two American Bald Eagles were flying overhead over my backyard. I've now seen them many times, so they must be nesting somewhere near my hood.
It was a grand day in my yard. Thank You, Jesus.

A visit to the Heritage Farm presented this scene with an antique sewing machine by existing light. Heritage Farm is a Czech farmstead that began in 1876 when the Cherovsky family emigrated from Bohemia with the hopes of building a new farming life in Wisconsin. The original buildings still stand on the original plot of land. The log home, original barn and granary - now a blacksmith shop - is open to the public during Heritage Farm events.

Some of us have personal goals that we set for ourselves, long ago, I had descided that this was it, and now that I'm here... I'm not really sure what to do with myself.
A few things are coming to mind: Continue blogging for a few of my long-term sponsors and events, possibly get back into creating some new BOM stuff, or straight out retire.
Maybe it's a ten year itch, a Mid-(second)Life-Crisis... who knows, it will likely pass... just know that I have no more expectations of myself or anyone else, it's super empowering.

Another image from a recent visit to Buchanty Spout near Crieff in Perthshire, Scotland. If you go to this location at the right time of year, you can see the Salmon jumping out of the water and up the falls as they try to get up stream to spawn. It certainly is some sight.

Water lily treated as a seasonal vegetable in Bangladesh, and thus when the season of rain arrived in full phase, some parts of country developed this type of water lily market.
While waiting for the hummingbirds to return, I amused myself with nearby flowers in our garden. This Rose of Sharon flowers for a long time and I thought it was interesting to capture their life cycle in one frame.
