Tens of thousands of karst mountains surround the Li River and its connected cities. The byproduct of millions of years of water erosion and weathering, these karst hills are among the oldest and most beautiful natural wonders in China. To produce an image with a strong visual impact and a sense of place for which the region is famous, I had to climb a nearby karst for a higher vantage point. It gave me the opportunity to capture the distant mountains that I would not have been able to get at river level.

Former Long Island Rail Road M1 EMU #9548 is seen as an exhibit at the Railroad Museum of Long Island Riverhead. The married pair 9547-9548 ran in service from 1968 to 2007. They were the only known M1s to have been in Grand Central Terminal, prior to ESA.
