View from the sky bar at level 33 of the Traders Hotel. As usual: no tripods allowed. Luckily, I had my littel gorillapod with me and could make a view shots before it was discovered.

This one is made from 2 raw images. I created 3 exposures for each and stiched the 6 images in Hugin in HDR mode.

UPY #711 is going over Hubbard/Green and the JFK Expressway as it heads back to California Avenue with two empties from Blommer Chocolate. It is quite impressive how much the Interstate system has altered the landscape here. Notice the rusted C&NW herald under the last hopper.

Obviously the location was graced with a station in times gone by.

This pic was taken when I was taking pics of Wood Ducks and Mandarin Ducks in the same pond and this Otter had kinda told me get out of here!! He or She had had enough of me on that morning!! No not mess with a River Otter!! Be careful they will attack!!

Taken 7 months after closure looking west towards Manchester at Torside level crossing in the Longdendale Valley, on the western end of the old Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne & Manchester Rly which opened in 1845, known as the Woodhead Route, home to the EM1 class 76 and EM2 class 77 DC electric locomotives.

This line closed as a through route just after 5am on the 18th July 1981 after the passage of 6M10 Harwich-Trafford Park Speedlink hauled by 76006 and 76014.

Today you can walk along here as it is now part of the 215 mile long coast to coast Trans Pennine Trail, with this section known as the Longdendale Trail.

The next floor contains a movie theater, also not part of the film. The entrance is barricaded, probably to lock some zombies in the hall. Didn’t work too well, some zombies are still free and found a pretty snack. The poor guy shot his brains out, because he couldn’t stand the pressure. By the way, his eyeballs also couldn’t stand the pressure (when he pulled the trigger) and popped out. Don’t try that at home, kids.

Look at the poster and what film they’re showing.

Little egret at Westhay...

"The city only went as far as filling the bay in to about 4 meters depth. The final buildup of the Water Level blocks was undertaken by individual developers. Many put their own touches on the shape of the concrete slabs, especially on the corners. These days the slabs are in very poor condition, but the shop owners like to maintain the corners for some reason."

- Yoko Aramaki, City Planner

The canals and blocks didn't usually have names, but the corners often did. That was one of the only ways to give someone directions.

One of the three level tram crossings to be removed in August this year and replaced by over overpasses here at Marion Road and Cross Road. Morphett Rd will get an underpass for other traffic. All these activities will undertaken simultaneously whilst the tram services reduced to the city of Adelaide only. haydock foundry 0-6-0wt bellerophon of 1874 trundles over a level crossing on the foxfield railway with the vintage north staffs train

it is hard to imagine that in it's heyday this locomotive worked both coal trains from haydock to northwich and holiday specials from haydock to blackpool

The 3 of them are pretty chilled out with sheep .. and the sheep are pretty chilled with them .. whilst Auntie Elk would love to .. she knows she's not allowed, Paddy's interested .. but follows Auntie Elk's lead and always comes back to heel .. Mist .... is usually nowhere to be seen (scared of anything with 4 legs especially if it looks at her!)
