A cirque, as in the image above, (French, from the Latin word circus) is an amphitheatre-like valley formed by glacial erosion. [...].
Glacial cirques are found amongst mountain ranges throughout the world; 'classic' cirques are typically about one kilometer long and one kilometer wide. Situated high on a mountainside near the firn line, they are typically partially surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs. The highest cliff often is called a headwall. The fourth side forms the lip, threshold or sill,[2] the side at which the glacier flowed away from the cirque. Many glacial cirques contain tarns dammed by either till (debris) or a bedrock threshold. When enough snow accumulates it can flow out the opening of the bowl and form valley glaciers which may be several kilometers long. Wikipedia

Reflections are one of life's mysteries.
This juvenile Glaucous-winged Gull was born on Father's Day, June 21, 2021 and up until today, August 7, 2021, had not seen a drop of rain. As he looked into the rain water-filled gutter he was startled to see "another" Gull staring back at him!! Who are you?
All the more perplexing since he had spent the last 6+ weeks in this previously bone-dry gutter hiding from the blazing sun and suffocating heat!

I loved how my colourful dock flower reflections in the lake were distorted and "mixed" by the wind and the swells in the water.
The browns are from the logs, the blue colour from the sky and the other colours from petunias etc. and plant leaves
