Not gonna lie...I goofed on the bow measurements and it's really big. But if you can't go big for the Holidays, when can you?

Florida harvester ants (Pogonomyrmex badius) major worker and minor worker, both female.
The "Shaman" in the video is a winged male alate.
(This is a shameless plug for a very silly & unscientific video I made).
A colony of Florida harvester ants are just finishing their long morning of seed harvest, As the sun warms the soft quartz sand the word goes out "everybody DANCE" and playtime begins!
The happiness is contagious so join in and dance with them and feel the warm sand between your toes (just watch where you step please)!
(As usual, thanks to the harvester ant colony at Juno Dunes for not stinging me).

I had to add the red ribbon just for fun. Pleased with how it turned out. :-)

I'm ready--soooooo ready for Spring. We got 5 inches dumped on us last night and tonight we can expect Thunderstorms.
I really, really, really want it to be Spring.
It's too darn hot to do the 3/4 sleeves so I shortened them and did a scoop neck instead of the traditional square. And this reproduction Barbie was originally a Poodle Parade--but she looks so good as a dark swirl!

The lettering is dark brown and quite honestly I didn't think I would like it as much as I do....

Phew, so much to do and so little time. I got most of the modern Barbie stuff up on Ebay, but managed to finish off these dresses.

Inspired by a meme to stop saving fabric that is "too special to use" and put together these outfits. How often do you find fabric featuring the Nativity but in Barbie Scale? And I was only able to get such a small amount!

By now, I couldn't place more leprechauns on the bodice, so I went with Ireland. it's trimmed out in baby rick rack, which is the tool of Satan and I just really, really, really hated sewing it.

I was really pleased to find this fabric because usually the 'lessor' holiday fabrics read 'cutesy' or (IMHO worse) juevenille. But the large shamrocks almost have an abstract quality to them.

How could I not do a "Lets Dance" with this fabric? It's a vintage piece that I found at a retail shop. Totally cute!
So...maaaaybe I went a little nuts making the Let's Dance dress. Turns out I have been hording fabrics to do just this. Most of these dresses are hybrids of Eizzily's and my own pattern.
Poor Aria had the first version of the top...but I hadn't added enough to get an accurate seam and the top was too short. So I modified it to fit Dynamite Girls. Eizzily's pattern really has the proportions right. Can't sing praises high enough!
