On Christmas day, we decided to take the dogs down to Willow Grove Beach, the first trip for Blitzen. They both had a wonderful time and Blitzen ran and ran and ran and ran and RAN! He has such a wonderful time in the sand running back and forth, making quick turns, just enjoying life. Max tried to keep up some of the time, but eventually just enjoyed a nice walk at the beach.
Sending these off to my sister. Wishing for some snow here in northern Arizona!! My writing could have been better on the Let it Snow cookie.

“I think that the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms, allow them to take the subway... let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves.”
― C. JoyBell C.
The artist created this beaded doctor’s bag for her parents to honour the memory of their son and her brother, Jesse Pittwewetam Gustafson, who died in 2015. This work is layered with meaningful and personal imagery to inspire and comfort.

the bow, arrow, knife, and cap are all traditional Tayal (Taiwan aborigine) work.
The bow is spiya wood; I don't know the Chinese or English name of the tree.
The klisu (barbed arrow) is 箭竹/arrow bamboo (a type of straight, slender bamboo), with a barbed point. The knife, or laraw, was originally used for everything from clearing brush to headhunting. It's a great tool for the jungle, even for those fussy souls like myself who do not hunt heads (it's illegal now).
The cap is rattan.
