Artificial snow at Christmas In The Park. Plaza de Cesar Chavez, San Jose, California. Nikon F100, 24mm f2.8 D, Walgreens ISO 800 C41, no flash. Walgreens Photo CD scan.
Taken at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco, CA. I went up to city to catch a combo meetup of fire performers and photographers. I had a great time. I hadn't really shot anything like this before so there was a lot (re: A LOT) of trial/error/experimenting. It was so much fun and I hope to be able to catch the next meetup.
Rena Mayne grinned. "Well....Scream. Now. Into the wind. Just....As loud as you can. We are up so high no one will hear. Let it out. Stop being quiet." She turned her face up to the wind coming in over the ruins and let loose a blood curdling primal scream echoed back at them from the surrounding buildings.
Guinevere Fouroux shakes her head at Rena's offer, tempting as the offer was. "I don't know... " she starts to demure, but then suddenly Rena screams, so loudly it makes her ears ring and she would swear, rattles the windows in their frames. She reaches up to cover her ears, but she's grinning broadly. "I think I can do that," she says, looking back at Rena. Drawing a deep breath--deeper than she did at Mass, to sing; deeper, it felt, than she ever had before--she balls her fist and just screams. Her eyes squeeze shut as she puts every bit of energy into it. Every frustration, every hurt. She pulls it from deep inside and throws it at the wind, throws it away.
Rena Mayne grinned at her and reached up to push the now wild tangle of hair out of her face. She was flushed and happy. "Feels good, doesn't it...letting go?"
Guinevere Fouroux stills, listening to the sound of her voice echo off the buildings and fade away. The world didn't end. Didn't even stop spinning. She looks back to Rena, feeling suddenly lighter than she had in... well, a long time. "Feels amazing. If this is what it means to fly..." Trailing off she looks to the edge of the building, the abyss beyond. "Sign me up."
Rena Mayne reached out a hand, as if to stop her jumping. "Don't get any ideas now, you can't REALLy fly!"
During a hunt with Ice Freeze, we saw this couple rocking away to the music played by the nearby busker.
They were happy that we took pictures of them, his son and daughter in law were cheering him on...

On Christmas day, we decided to take the dogs down to Willow Grove Beach, the first trip for Blitzen. They both had a wonderful time and Blitzen ran and ran and ran and ran and RAN! He has such a wonderful time in the sand running back and forth, making quick turns, just enjoying life. Max tried to keep up some of the time, but eventually just enjoyed a nice walk at the beach.
