How cool is this leopard. He was on a mission to get somewhere. Just ignored the viewing vehicle and kept on walking. I'll call him Johnnie!
Like the Amur tigers this Amur leopard spent quite a while sleeping while I was at Marwell recently but it did wake up in the end, giving visitors the chance to get a good look at its beautiful face. A friend of mine told me there's only about 40 of these left in the wild :(

This is my and many peoples favorite animal. The eye contact is what makes this image work for me. This is a formidable predator and at close proximity sent a chill down my spine.
Finally got round to uploading one of my third reptile, my little leopard gecko that I got a couple of weeks ago. Shamefully had to use flash because she wouldn't stay still!
The range of this species used to cover areas of China, Russia, and the Korean peninsula. However, their numbers have shrunk dramatically, and this cat is no longer found in China or Korea. In Russia as few as 14-20 adults were estimated to survive in 2007.
Amur leopards have been listed by the IUCN as critically endangered, meaning that the species is facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild

I took this photo at the zoo with my family. This leopard was so beautiful and looked SO soft, I wanted to hug her!!
