Amur Leopard - Colchester Zoo

I waited about 15 minutes to get this and the next shot. There were children. Lots of children. So I sat my ass down on the concrete in the optimal no-glare, no-reflection spot, and waited. Every time I thought I was about to be able to take the shot, a new child would arrive, taking the old one's place. But my time came!

Leopard relaxing at a watering hole. At Edeni, Hoedspruit, South Africa. This big guy was waiting for the light to fall so that he could have a go at the impala on the bank opposite. Shortly after this was taken he slunk off into the undergrowth.

So......maybe because I bought a MacBook Pro with the new OSX "snow leopard"....but I was quite lucky today to take some pics at this two beautiful "big cats" having fun...

This picture was taken at Duma Tau Camp in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.

Our trip was planned by Africa Adventure Company who we strongly recommend.

Leopard sleeping at Twycross Zoo, GB

Another female from the same group. She was also going towards the carcass of the Sambhar. It was killed by a leopard cause the stomach was ripped apart, which is a typical Leopard signature, tigers go for the neck. Leopards generally rip ope the stomach and sometimes just break the head with their powerful jaws. Sound scary but then it won't be a jungle if it's not scary and raw.

It's been 4 weeks since I photographed Brookfield Zoo's Snow Leopard cub, Everest. He has grown quite a bit, and boy does he like to play! He keeps his mom, Sarani, very busy! It is so fun to watch them interact with one another.
