This point is named after St. Brendan.
Saint Brendan is said to have left from here on his lengendary 7 year voyage in search of Hy Brasail, or the "Island of the Blessed". It is believed he travelled to Iceland, Greenland and maybe even America.
The area is a very popular spot for bird watching, particularly in Autumn.

Helos ahí, cuando se disponían a entrar en mi improvisado refugio...
Pese a lo crítico de tan surrealista situación, en uno de los míos legendarios y proverbiales alardes de coraje y sangre fría, aún acerté a fotografiarlos, sirva la imagen que logré para convencimiento de los más incrédulos...
Afortunadamente, cuando ya lo creía todo perdido y estaba a punto de abandonarme a la fatalidad, acerté a identificarme ante ellos, luciendo la más aviesa de mis miradas, como un convencido vegetariano, y la horda de cardos huyó despavorida...

In my last photographic heroic outing, I had to defend myself against the attack of an aggressive horde of wild thistles; their number was so great that I had to seek refuge in an old abandoned shed of a nearby ruined and deserted village. Here they are, when they were about to come into my makeshift shelter...
Despite this highly critical surrealist situation, in one of my own famous and lengendary shows of bravery and courage, I still was able to photograph them to convince unbelievers...
Fortunately, when I thought everything was lost and almost resigned to my cruel fate, in the face of such imminent danger, I was able to identify myself, with ferociousness and malicious sight, as a convinced vegetarian, and the whole horde of thistles fled in terror...

The Iconic St Pauls Cathedral London. Designed and built by the Lengendary Sir Christopher Wren in the 17th century. This British rennaisance masterpiece was until the 1960,s the tallest building in London for over 300 years. Taken from on top of the Tate Modern gallery, this was one of my last shoots with a Canon camera before my move to Sony. Shot on the classic 24-105 L lens, this photo without any editing at all, shows why Canons colour science is replicated across the board. Used with a Tiffen polariser, this was the last shoot for me.

Another experiment using a hazed Tokina Zoom lens to emulate the lengendary Thambar
I ran into lengendary aviator, Ray Atkins, fixing potholes on his driveway just off the Denali Highway in Cantwell, Alaska. "This tractor is older than I am!" said Ray after telling me that it was a 1935 Payloader.
Just realised I don't have a proper picture of my trusty Asahi Pentax Spotmatic F. Here with the lengendary Takumar Super-Multi-Coated 50mm f1.4 mounted.
Recently CLA'ed, works as good as new. This one is definately a keeper.
The spotmatic is the main body for my M42 lenses. The Takumar is accompanies by various excellent lenses such as the Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm f2.4 Flektogon, and the Jupiter 9 85mm f2. Plus various Tamron adaptall lenses such as the 24mm f2.5 and the excellent 90mm f2.5.
I have more or less three film SLR outfits- Spotmatic (M42), Nikon FE2 (Nikkor), and Olympus OM1 (OM). The Spotmatic is purely for pleasure of shootin, the Nikon for demanding work, and the OM1 for lightness. This has meant a seriously slimming down on my 'other' cameras, such as numerous Rangefinders like the Bessa R2, which have been sold. Main reasons being I tend to shoot wide, close, and fast, and the price of the lenses for RF is just too prohibitive. I rather invest in some decent lenses for my 40D.
A real folklore Irish Hawthorn Fairy Tree located at Mc Kinneys Bridge in Strabane County Tyrone Northern Ireland
I saw this amazing mythical tree and had to capture it before the sunset ended, so I walked through a mud soaked field and changed the white balance to bring out this blueish magical colour which I think adds to the mystery of these Fairy trees where fairys are suppose to live and legend has it if you chop one down bad luck will follow for the rest of your life!

This ear of wheat is waiting to be harvested in front of Emperor Shenzong of Song's mausoleum, which has been sitting here on the Central Plains for nearly 1,000 years (built in 1085 AD) since Song Dynasty. What would it hear in such a lengendary place?

After staying in Venice for 3 days, I am now in Florence. Venice is indeed a lengendary place. It was even more beautiful than I had imagined. I could not believe it was real even when I was standing on its ground. Now if you ask me where is my favorite place in Europe, I would say Venice without any hesitation. Tomorrow I will be discovering Florence.

The lengendary trombonist, back in Detroit and featured in several of the ensembles of the great 4 day Detroit Jazz Festival.
Curtis DuBois Fuller (born December 15, 1934, Detroit) is an American jazz trombonist, known as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and contributor to many classic jazz recordings.
Fuller's Jamaican-born parents died when he was young; he was raised in an orphanage. While in Detroit he was a schoolfriend of Paul Chambers and Donald Byrd, and also knew Tommy Flanagan, Thad Jones and Milt Jackson. After army service between 1953 and 1955 (when he played in a band with Chambers and brothers Cannonball and Nat Adderley), Fuller joined the quintet of Yusef Lateef, another Detroit musician. In 1957 the quintet moved to New York, and Fuller recorded his first sessions as a leader for Prestige Records.
Alfred Lion of Blue Note Records first heard him playing with Miles Davis in the late 1950s, and featured him as a sideman on record dates led by Sonny Clark and John Coltrane; Fuller's work on the latter's Blue Train album is probably his best known recorded performance. Fuller led four dates for Blue Note, though one of these, an album with Slide Hampton, was not issued for many years. Other sideman appearances over the next decade included work on albums under the leadership of Bud Powell, Jimmy Smith, Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan and Joe Henderson (a former room mate at Wayne State University in 1956).
Fuller was also the first trombonist to be a member of the Art Farmer-Benny Golson Jazztet, later becoming the sixth man in Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in 1961, staying with Blakey until 1965. In the early 1960s, he recorded two albums as a leader for Impulse! Records, having also recorded for Savoy Records and Epic after his obligations to Blue Note had ended. In the late 1960s, he was part of Dizzy Gillespie's band, that also featured Foster Elliott. He went on to tour with Count Basie and also reunited with Blakey and Golson.

This lengendary camera was refurbished by Certo 6 because it was a rather old disused camera from my father's collection. Looks pretty good, but the rangefinder is misaligned...so focussing is always slightly off...

Info : I used to pass through a house with this flower and most of the time I could not take a shot because I am carrying my 50mm lens and do not have such a distance. This time I thought of bringing my this lengendary lens for a spin. This time I have the distance, I push all the way to 210mm focal length and take this shot. Suprisingly, this len is a good performer, even at full open aperture at 210mm focal length. So this is the first shot with this len and as promise to my friend that I will post this sample shot first. Enjoy flickr friends and members.

Shifu Shi Yanfang also trained Shifu kanishka intensly in Shaolin Sanshou( Free Fighting) specially in Shao Jiao( wrestling) and Shuai Fa( Takedowns)

These are the type of moments that inspire me the most, the once happen never seen again type. This was shot with the lengendary nikkor 85mm f/1.4d prime lens on a D800. He is front lit by a large window making the light incredible soft and diffuse. I ended up shooting this at a pretty wonky angle so that had to be corrected (the pains of being on the floor on your knees can disorientate you!). Focus is on the upper eye which is slightly further away than the other but is better defined with eyelashes facing us. Shooting wide open helps to blur out the minor distractions in the distance but should not be used as a crutch, as a uncluttered background will always look better blurred than a cluttered one. Compositionally, this is a simple fill the frame shot.

Compared to most other cars in its class, it feels heavier and sluggish, but still good fun.

Kirchner's experience of Berlin's intense prewar urban environment culminated in a lengendary series of fourteen street scenes, of which this is a prime example. Various levels of erotic tension are conveyed in the choreography between the coquettes and their prospective customers. The bright colors of the Fauves have been supplanted by a harsh artificial luminosity suggesting streetlights, while the pointed, angular forms derived from Cubism are rendered in nervous, hatched passages of brushstrokes.
One of the coolest engines ever built (besides a 351 Cleveland LOL) the lengendary Ford Flathead or side wacker.
And even better when topped off with some Offenhauser or Edelbrock heads!
