The Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG) display at the Henry Ford Museum from November 12, 2017 to January 6, 2018. As usual, the display is on the east side of the museum past the giant Allegheny locomotive.
This build was for a client (Architecture). While the project remains undisclosed and is temporarily shelved due to COVID-19, I want to share the images before boxing up the model for a while. Hopefully this project will get revealed to the public and built at some point.

Whitebrick Sand House is characterized by straight lines, glass and sandy colours. Placed in desertlike environment, yet close to civilization. Somewhere to relax.
Central Library is located in Milwaukee, WI. The building opened in 1898, and the model uses 298 pieces.
Broken Lego pieces used to depict actual broken wooden planks.
The Lego goat became a rare element for a few years. Once Lego produced a collectable minifig of the goatherd I decided to build him a tranquil farm to live on.
There are a few stories added to the model for intrest and intrigue
This one has been done in media form, as an old BBC TV serial. Most of my direct inspiration comes from the illustrations in the book.
From left to right: the wigwams of the Marsh-Wiggles, the Giants' Bridge into Ettinsmoor, the House of Harfang, and the Green Witch's palace of Underland (with the cracks leading down into the Really Deep Land of Bism.
It is a modular fish market sized 64x32 studs comprising seven pavilions and few bridges. The market is divided into wet goods and dry goods zone, with shops ranged from fish stalls, flower shop and grocery stores at Ground, and cafe and restaurant on the 1st Floor. Vibrant Coral and Dark Azur are adopted as colour palette of the design. Built with several types of window frames, a huge canopy provides weather proection to the people below. Enjoy shopping and eating with proper distancing!
Based on BCD's Chilis, this modular building MOC features an extra 16X32 studs expansion, which allowed for the movement of the main entrance to the corner (which then transformed it into a corner building) as well as the movement of many of the internal components. It also allowed for the installation of extra booths for customers and for a hostess station. The bar area gets a boost of space as well with the rearrangement, and access to the bathrooms is now through the bar, and not through the dining area, which typically is a plus.
My 2007 model of the DPL only included the front 1/3 of the original Cass Gilbert designed portion of the main branch building, I am now creating new sections to expand my model to all of the original building. Only a small portion of the 1960s addition will be modeled so as to include the main rear entrance.
This image shows how I create multi-pane windows using relatively inexpensive and readily available parts: 1x2 clear bricks, 1x2 dark bley {blue-grey} plates, 1x6 dark bley tiles, and assorted white bricks to form the walls containing the window frames. The section in the foreground once completed, will be a mirror-image of the section in the background.
Lot's of local landmarks: Frost Bank Building, One Shoreline Plaza Towers, Harbor Bridge, Art Museum of South Texas, USS Lexington, and the seawall with its Miradores!
Bedroom of House on Striped Pillars.
Modern living inspired by old open-air-bath architecture as the house is standing on pillars in water and is offering an open space for bathing in the middle.
You enter the terrace through the rock on the backside of the house. On the terrace you find a small outdoor kitchen and table with chairs made of ladders and steering wheels. Kitchen, reading corner, livingroom and sauna with shower on first floor.
The house is entered from the terrace. A high plated wall goes though this floor leading from the hallway to the master bedroom and bathroom. Here you sleep with a 180 degrees sea view.
The floor below is reached by a floating staircase attached to the wall. A corridor with a resting chair (made of life preservers) and glass cabinet combines two parts of the house. One of them is hosting a kitchen and dining area. The other one is hosting a livingroom. Here you also find a small sauna and shower room with a ladder leading directly down to the water.
This is my third house built into a rock. The other two are called "Green Rock House" and "Calmwater Cliff House".

Model Installed at the National Building Museum
Over the last 6 weeks, I had the amazing opportunity to design and build my largest LEGO creation yet. When the National Building Museum announced they were expanding their exhibit on LEGO architecture and invited Robert A.M. Stern Architects to submit a model, I jumped at the chance. There were a lot of long hours and sleepless nights as a result, but I am very happy with the end result and am honored to have something that can be enjoyed by thousands rather than just anyone who happens to be in my living room. Here are some facts and statistics:

This model is now on display in the National Building Museum in Washington, DC as part of the expanded exhibit LEGO Architecture: Towering Ambition from now until September 3, 2012. It is in the company of 15 models by LEGO certified professional builder Adam Reed Tucker, so I did my best to create something deserving of sharing the floor with them.

Green Rock House is divided into Three parts connected by hinges and technic pins. The roof of each level can be removed easily.
The house has full interior with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, Music corner, bathroom and gym.

House of Three is a contemporary Scandinavian family home. I've tried to catch contemporary Scandinavian architecture in colours, floor plan and roof design. The interior and furniture in inspired by IKEA and other Scandinavian designs. Comfortable living suitable for a small family.

Based loosely on BCD Colonial Revival House instructions. Instead of it being the 3 floors of simple boxes, I've fleshed it out a bit, adding fully furnished rooms and stairs to the second floor and a pull down ladder to the attic (which is also furnished with a guest bed and a desk/office area).
Created based on the Brick Builder's Pro (L.G. Orlando), “Town Street” (1 of a set of 4 building instructions from those aftermarket instructions), the “Bay Window Brokers” part was used to map out the basics of this set. The original instruction only depicts a set of essentially 2 boxes, set one on top of the other, with no stairs or other connection other than being on top of the other.
My depiction, provides 8 additional more studs of store front, stairs to the second floor, and some amenities.
I used the curved columnade to make the main library. This is the final resting spot for the main library.

After four years of LEGO construction, my model of the Penobscot Block is complete. It includes models of the Savoyard Center, 1900 (1 foot high), original Penobscot Building, 1905 (3 feet high), Ford Building, 1909 (4 feet high), Penobscot Annex, 1913 (5.5 feet high), and the Penobscot Building, 1928 (9.5 feet to roof, 11 feet to top of spire). The entire block probably weighs on the order of 400 pounds.
The photo shows the Penobscot Block plus the Detroit Public Library main branch.
The Penobscot Block is being displayed at the Midland Center for the Arts as part of the Art of the Brick exhibit featuring the LEGO art of Nathan Sawaya (June 12 to September 2, 2010). Eighteen of J Spencer Rezkalla's microscale skyscrapers comprising his Skyline exhibit are also on display. The Michigan LEGO train club will have a train and town layout with operating LEGO trains.

I am very pleased to present the Legacy Tower in Rochester, New York.
My client loves the architecture of this building and wanted it done in microscale for his collection. As always, we worked together closely to make sure his imagination became a reality.
The resulting design is 13.6 " (34.6 cm) high and the base is 7.6" (19.2cm) square. All together there are 4001 pieces.
This was easily the most complex microscale build I have done to date and it was an incredibly fun challenge!
