📜 The use of 2x2 double convex, inverted slopes surrounding an interior peristyle is a technique I first developed for Herod's Palace in my diorama of First Century Jerusalem!

This skyscraper never goes out of style! 🇹🇼

I've always admired Taipei 101 from afar, but never seriously considered designing it until about ten days ago. The unique colors and tapered profile made this a worthy challenge. So I struck while the inspiration was fresh, and even ended up designing a brand new pair of wedge plates to make it all work in the end!

My first attempt at modern-ish architecture. The house is designed with a bachelor pad in mind, more specifically a guitarist/musician (hence the guitar collection and piano).

Autumn Stream House MOC is a modern home lying among the trees coloured by autumn. Underneath a small stream is living its own life.

️ The enormous columns of the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus were quarried from Mount Pentelikon just outside Athens! ️

️ This was the very same quarry used to build the Parthenon centuries earlier, and it's a clear example of Rome's unprecedented acumen for importing resources on a monumental scale. ️

This MichLUG display is part of the Detroit Design Festival at the College for Creative Studies- Ford Campus. The display will be up until evening of September 21st. My David Stott building model is next to Scot Thompson's 1 Detroit Center and Chris Leach's Dime Building (Chrysler House).

The SV-Hochhaus is the newly built headquarters of the Süddeutsche Verlag after the company moved out of the city center. It was initially planned as 145-meter-tall landmark in Munich’s industrial east. But the same citizens’ initiative stopping many other high-rise projects in Munich brought this to a halt, too. Following the referendum, the roof height was set to 100 meters, forcing GKK+Architekten to completely rethink their concept. Nonetheless, it was opened in July 2007, after just over one year of construction.

The complex features an intricate façade with sharply angled windowpanes creating a diamond-like effect on the surface. Unfortunately, it was not possible to recreate this mesmerizing effect at this scale.

The model consists of 1,101 pieces and is built in scale 1:650. It features a detailed rendition of the “Atrium”, the building's impressive lobby, which is accessible through a removable roof.

Terrace details.

Calmwater Cliff House is located on a cliff by the beach. Two floors with a terrace on each floor. Downstairs you find a spacious kitchen and dining area, a bathroom and home office. Upstairs you find a music corner with sea view, a bedroom and the main entrance.

As you see it´s a LEGO house and I´ve mainly used the colours black, dark tan, tan and reddish brown.

I wanted to make a modern home - in some way inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and the colours of the 20th century - updated to 21st century lifestyle.

Hidden Home Park is an underground modern, sustainable home hidden in a green park. Trees, bushes and flowers. A roof and an atrium garden. Kitchen garden with herbs. Three patios with lots of windows. Two ponds and a bench where you can meditate. Two bee hives symbolize the symbiosis of animals, plants and humans.

It is my entry to the Swebrick contest Master Builder of the Year 2017 ending on March 1st 2018.

House of Three is a contemporary Scandinavian family home. I've tried to catch contemporary Scandinavian architecture in colours, floor plan and roof design. The interior and furniture in inspired by IKEA and other Scandinavian designs. Comfortable living suitable for a small family.

Montaje del Empire State Building de LEGO por módulos

My most famous and longest running city. I have decided to give up my LEGO collection, however I will commemorate each of my past cities with a skyline.

Vanilla House is a modern home with two floors. The ground floor house body is tan coloured and shaped like an "L". This is cut through by an inverted "L" consisting of many small plates in tan, dark tan, DBG, LBG and black.

Downstairs you find a kitchen, TV-lounge and bathroom. A black, floating staircase leads to the bedroom upstairs. The bedroom has glass walls to let in the light. The roof offers shadow.

The geometrical shapes inspired me to start building this MOC. In some way it is like a puzzle game.

I see a methodology of building something that lasts. Something that will withstand the rigors of monthly exhibitions over years of travel. Something which tens of thousands will be able to enjoy in as pristine condition as possible.

I also see the immense substructure of a more than 11,000-brick model depicting the Flavian Amphitheatre (Colosseum) at its glorious height circa mid-4th century CE.

Many will see something else, and that's okay.

There is no progress without first breaking tired and arbitrary moulds. ✊

One either side of the east-west ends of the Charbagh, stand identical Naubat Khana, or “Drum Houses.” Each of the Naubat Khana are positioned along the crenellated walls at the terminus of the water channels. While both largely provide punctuation along the otherwise continuous arcade of the perimeter walls, their functional uses have varied between housing water tanks for irrigation when first built, to the west Naubat Khana serving as the Taj Mahal Museum today. Both are increased in prominence by the marble-domed chhatris at the rooftop as well as intricately tiled, raised porches facing the center of the Charbagh.

The latest Design Insights for my years-long project to build the entirety of Imperial Rome are now posted on my Patreon page! These insights cover the VELABRUM; the region of Ancient Rome which sat at a crossroads between the Capitoline and Palatine Hills.

Like the Arch of Janus depicted in the sneak peek rendering, this post marks a turning point in the progression of this project which I first announced on the Kalends of January. It has taken some time to lift off the ground, but the steadfast support of all my patrons has helped me reach a point where the design updates will now be coming fast & furious over the next several weeks of intense design efforts.

I very much still need your support in making this project a reality! It's no stretch to say that this is my most comprehensive - and exciting - project to date. It takes a village to realize any ambitious undertaking, but this is certainly not without its rewards. I encourage you to visit my Patreon page and consider contributing. In exchange, patrons will be the first to see all the newly designed areas, with exclusive perks and further insights / access for the higher tiers.

To put it another way, the soldiers are being mustered, the generals have made their offerings at the Temple of Mars Ultor, and the legions are now marching toward the frontier for the long campaign season ahead! Onward - and festina lente!

The Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG) display at the Henry Ford Museum from November 12, 2017 to January 6, 2018. As usual, the display is on the east side of the museum past the giant Allegheny locomotive.

This view shows my LEGO model of the 47 story tall Penobscot building along with the other buildings on its block.

Here we are! Maybe this is my most difficult MOC I ever did! Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow!

I'm honest, I had two different inspirations: one was a model found on Bricklink, designed by Jacob Harper, but the most important one was Markus Rollbühler's MOC, which has always fascinated me for its amazing techniques!

The latter, moreover, was so kind to reveal me some secret techniques used in his MOC for the domes! Thank you Markus! :)

However, as you can see, my MOC is also different from the former MOCs: it maintains the dimensions typical of Architecture series, but the most difficult part was to find the correct pieces in the correct available colors...

And talking about my techniques: I'm not so crazy and skilled like Markus! :P

The Bley District is in the upper middle.

This historic precedent of Colonial Georgian Architecture sits at the heart of Philadelphia's old city center. Independence Hall also played a crucial role in the founding of the United States, as its storied assembly rooms witnessed the signing of both the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1787.

More fun with LEGO Star Trek TNG.

Glass wall of Whitebrick Sand House MOC.

Whitebrick Sand House is characterized by straight lines, glass and sandy colours. Placed in desertlike environment, yet close to civilization. Somewhere to relax.

My first 32x32 modular MOC ever! This modern ramen restaurant building features a condo on its upper floors.

This building features a fire escape ladder, similar to the Avenue Residences' design.
