Two townhouses inspired by houses in Washington, D.C.. Each house is build as a separate 16x32 modular house. Fully furnished. Computer rendering but buildable if you have the bricks.
The first structure is Westwatch which is not in use anymore, followed by the Shadow towers and Castle Black with a working elevator.
Garpenberg Castle is located in Dalarna, Sweden. It was built 1801 and used as a private residence. Today it is used as a conference and wedding venue. About 2200 bricks. Computer rendering but buildable if you have the bricks.
The Saheli Burj are two identical, secondary mausoleums located at the southern corners of the Jilaukhana. Interred within these matching tombs are the remains of two of Shah Jahan’s wives. While the identity of the remains within the eastern Saheli Burj (pictured here) are not clear, the western tomb (opposite pictured) is that of Fatehpuri Mahal. Along with the remains of Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal is the final resting place of three of Shah Jahan’s wives, as well as that of the emperor himself.

Hamnspången is a walking and cycling bridge in central Uppsala over the Fyris River. The bridge is designed as a Dutch counterbalance bridge (lifting bridge or drawbridge, in Dutch ophaalbrug). The lego model is unfortunately not openable. Computer rendering but buildable if you have the bricks.
Building something using only pieces from the Pick-a-Brick wall at your local LEGO Store can be fun, but building something that looks good is quite difficult. The limited palette of basic bricks, plates, very few SNOT pieces, and almost no slopes or wedges made this a challenge.
I'm just happy the Pick-a-Brick wall always has a few really useful pieces for advanced building, such as plates with clips which made the tail, fins, and mouth able to move.
This was my entry for the Rebrick Mini Building Madness contest where the goal was to build a mini modular building of your own design. This was a fun challenge.
"This is the office building of a cutting edge architect firm. The firm is known for it's grand buildings with heavy concrete look mixed with beatiful and odd shapes. Their own office building is a great example of their unique style. This style gathered also a lot of negative reactions from the public and the building received a not so flattering name of "Car Park". It's the type of building that at first sticks out like a sore thumb but over time becomes a major landmark of the area."
The little-known pair of humble guesthouses nestled along the south border of Vatican City have primarily served as the temporary residences for members of the College of Cardinals taking part in a papal conclave. Completed in 1996 under the pontificate of Pope John Paul II, the understated Domus Sanctæ Marthæ is named after Martha of Bethany, sister to Mary and Lazarus of the biblical tale. In connection with the myth, the site was originally home to the St. Martha Hospice, built in 1891, and was repurposed several times prior to its demolition and rebuilding as the guesthouses of today. In a characteristic break from tradition, Pope Francis, upon his ascension to the papacy, decided to reside in a modest penthouse suite of the domus. Since 2013, he has dwelled here rather than in the stately Papal Apartments overlooking St. Peter’s Square on the third floor of the Apostolic Palace, wherein every pope since Pius X in 1903 had taken up residence. Instead, Pope Francis has elected to use the Papal Apartments as his office.
Vanilla House is a modern home with two floors. The ground floor house body is tan coloured and shaped like an "L". This is cut through by an inverted "L" consisting of many small plates in tan, dark tan, DBG, LBG and black.
Downstairs you find a kitchen, TV-lounge and bathroom. A black, floating staircase leads to the bedroom upstairs. The bedroom has glass walls to let in the light. The roof offers shadow.
The geometrical shapes inspired me to start building this MOC. In some way it is like a puzzle game.
“… and the statue of Zeus by the Alpheus, …”
Famous Phidias of Athens, creator of Athena’s statue at the Acropolis, was called to Olympia, to build the largest chryselephantine statue for Zeus, king of the gods. Phidias was known as the most skilled Greek sculptor of the fifth century BCE and with this creation he wanted to set himself apart once again. Zeus sat on a throne of sphinxes made of cedar wood, in his right-hand golden Nike, goddess of victory, and in the left hand his scepter; 12.4 meters from toe to crown. The god himself was made of ivory, accented with crystals and gold. Macedonian and Roman conquerors were stunned by Zeus’ presence. Not even Caligula dared to steal it away.
The statue was placed in a fully enclosed temple, 70 meters long, 29 meters wide, and almost 21 meters tall – larger than the Parthenon in Athens. The roof of the temple was made of Pentelic marble, cut thin enough to let the sunshine through, its yellow hue bathing the statue of Zeus in golden light.
The model consists of 495 pieces and is built in scale 1:650. I decided to build the Olympian temple alongside the world wonder itself, as it is in no means less impressive. And while Phidias’ craftsmanship and use of materials on the statue was outstanding, it was just one of his marvelous works across Greece. Instead, the temple supported the impression of Zeus’ might and literal greatness – the statue could not have stood up in Greece’s largest temple.
This historic precedent of Colonial Georgian Architecture sits at the heart of Philadelphia's old city center. Independence Hall also played a crucial role in the founding of the United States, as its storied assembly rooms witnessed the signing of both the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1787.

A common feature among Mughal gardens is the central cistern at which the four channels intersect, representing the Islamic belief that the rivers of Paradise are sourced from a central spring or mountain. At Taj Mahal, this pool is known as Al Hawd al-Kawthar, or “Cistern of Abundance.” The fabled Quran tale of Judgement Day speaks of a pond of abundance from which those who are resurrected will seek to quench their thirst amidst the chaos. The Cistern of Abundance, therefore, offers a moment of tranquil respite before its reflective waters to those taking in the sights of the surrounding gardens. The raised basin is built of white marble, and is accentuated by floral corner designs, in keeping with the broader floral ornamentation throughout Taj Mahal as well as the Islamic tenet which precludes human representation and iconography.
Despite the maddeningly complicated layout at the channels’ intersection, the Cistern of Abundance was a thoroughly captivating design experience and an even more nuanced challenge to actually build. The protrusion of the tips of sand green ski poles for the fountains presented an immediate challenge to securely embed them within the model substructure. This complexity was further compounded by the numerous converging planes which delineate the various sections of the lower pools. Even though some gaps were unavoidable in the sandwiching of transparent and tan plates & tiles, the channels are elegantly tied together by the comparatively more serene pool at the center. Here at the Cistern of Abundance, the flecks and streaks of sand green color beneath the transparent plates forming the four channels give way to an evenly tinted basin, effectively providing a resolution of otherwise disparate elements of the Charbagh.

⛲ The imperial domūs that once stood lavishly atop the Palatine Hill are the reason we have the word "Palace"! ⛲
📜 Perhaps none described it better than Roman court poets Statius and Martial when they recalled the splendor of the Imperial Palace on the Palatine:
"The Domus Augustiana must have been magnificent, foremost for its size. It extended over such an area that one's eyes would grow weary from looking at it, like the infinity of the sky, except in gold. There were columns enough to hold up the universe if Atlas had decided to rest. It was so tall that the pyramids of Egypt seemed ridiculous in comparison: it appeared as if the seven hills of Rome had been stacked, rising to the height of the stars, beyond the clouds."

The western walls of Vatican City narrow to a dramatic, acutely angled bastion characterized in modern times by the helipad at the parapet. Rounding out the city-state’s infrastructure is the Vatican City Heliport which provides short distance airlifts for the pope and visiting heads of state.
I would never have imagined that designing a landscape of Vatican City would be so heavily influenced by the military engineering of the now obsolete perimeter walls. Devising suitable boundary lines for the edges of the piece was theoretically an act of connecting the dots between the multiple bastions. Practically, on the other hand, this was anything but a cursory endeavor as even slight misalignments of such asymmetrical geometry might have led to vast elevational or spatial discrepancies when the two running lengths of the walls eventually met at this western tip. Having sub-divided the design of the piece over eight separate stages consisting of fifteen sub-sections, I was careful not to take too many liberties, preferring to strictly adhere to the angles and elevation of the walls rather than prioritizing parts usage which may have resulted in more LEGO-compatible angles at the cost of glaring inaccuracies. Eventually though, after more than 500 hours of design over seventy days, my efforts came to a fitting final point as I wrapped things up at this narrow tip of Vatican City in early October of 2020.

Under-construction view of my LEGO model of the Fort Street Union Depot with a 52 x 54 stud modular addition to the station. When all modular additions are complete this will allow me to display all or part of this station in various configurations from 3 x 3 (32 studs LxW) base plates up to 5 x 6 base plates depending on the available space on each MIchigan LEGO Train Club layout.
As I may have mentioned before the model is not completely accurate since I changed the station from a terminal to the through-station by allowing the trains to pass under arches added to the south wing. Six of the seven bays of the south wing have tracks; the seventh, on the near corner is more like the appearance of the real station since all tracks ended on the other side of the prototype.
☀️ This hexastyle, pseudoperipteral Temple was dedicated to the sun god, Apollo.
The Temple doors were of sculpted ivory, the column capitals were painted in gleaming yellow & gold, and the pediment was topped by Apollo's quadriga (horse-drawn carriage).

Downtown Records is a modular record shop, ready and waiting to take it’s place in your LEGO city, I have packed it with brick built detail as well as custom printed parts (two of my favourite things about LEGO sets). I will gradually be revealing more of this project over time, but to start with I have revealed images of the building from the front, the side and the record store interior.
In total, Downtown Records contains about 3000 bricks and is divided into three sections. The bottom section includes a street scape including traffic light and crossing, leafy tree (I am particularly happy with how the tree turned out – I only had to rebuild it four times!) and a small news stand. Inside on the ground floor of the building there is the record store itself with shelves bulging with custom printed records on 2×2 tiles, a bathroom, and access to the staircase leading upstairs.
My aim with the design of the facade was to create a believable downtown two storey brick-faced building with stucco detailing and ornate architectural cornicing.

Colonial Revival House based loosely on BCD instructions.
Bay Window Brokers, this Brick Builder’s Pro (L.G. Orlando), “Town Street” (1 of a set of 4 building instructions from those aftermarket instructions).
Pyke, the seat of House Greyjoy.
Westeros.
Game of Thrones.
I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones, so decided to build something related to that. The obvious castles would have been King's Landing or Winterfell but to me Pyke seemed more interesting, visually. I could build according to the description in the books but add something of my own as well and end up creating my version of it.
Also, I had an opportunity to do some more rockwork, :-) how could I lets that pass.... :-) :-) I used curved slope on plate for most of the rock.

Christmas is over and summer is in mind. So I built this small seaside villa where you can feel the sea breeze, watch the boats pass by and enjoy the sun beams dancing on your skin...
The boat was the trickiest part of this build. I hope no one eats it.
This early work-in-progress shot shows a small portion of a new Detroit related minifig scale model on which I had started building about a week ago.
Can anyone identify the real building?
I was asked by the designer of this MOC, Daniel Bugeja, to produce instructions for this amazing recreation of Rammas Echor.

House of Three is a contemporary Scandinavian family home. I've tried to catch contemporary Scandinavian architecture in colours, floor plan and roof design. The interior and furniture in inspired by IKEA and other Scandinavian designs. Comfortable living suitable for a small family.
This modular building is inspired by the modern Scandinavian architecture of the Rosendal neighborhood in Uppsala, Sweden. The wooden house consists of two parts, a cafe and apartments. About 3500 bricks. Computer rendering but only existing bricks were used.
I am very pleased to present the Legacy Tower in Rochester, New York.
My client loves the architecture of this building and wanted it done in microscale for his collection. As always, we worked together closely to make sure his imagination became a reality.
The resulting design is 13.6 " (34.6 cm) high and the base is 7.6" (19.2cm) square. All together there are 4001 pieces.
This was easily the most complex microscale build I have done to date and it was an incredibly fun challenge!

This build is a LEGO replica of Charing Cross, the very centre of my home town of Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.
Each year for Bendigo Bricks, Bendigo LEGO User Group’s annual brick show, I like to display something from Bendigo built out of LEGO bricks (in the past I have exhibited my Former Bendigo Fire Station and the Shamrock Hotel) and I decided that for Bendigo Bricks 2020 I was going to tackle a streetscape incorporating multiple facades. There are a number of places in Bendigo I could have chosen but I settled on Charing Cross this time as it has a good mix of different building styles.
Charing Cross is the intersection of View Street and Pall Mall and effectively stands at the centre of the city and is one of Bendigo’s busiest and most prominent intersections, check out the real place on Google StreetView here. In my build I wanted to capture Charing Cross on an average day featuring Bendigonian’s going about their daily lives.
My build includes four distinct facades, starting from left to right they are the Former Commercial Bank of Australia which stands at 11 View Point, 13-15 View Point, the beautiful art nouveau Former Royal Bank Building at 17 View Point and the Former Australian Mutual Provident Society Building at 21 View Point. I have tried to show these buildings as they appear today in their current uses.
Other features include Bendigo’s cenotaph, as well as a couple of elements that I built in the past, namely my Bendigo Bus and my Alexandra Fountain (though I have given it a new base in this build, one that is much more representive of its actual location).
I also wanted to include an iconic Bendigo Tram in this build and settled on No. 84. You can find out more about this historic tram here.
The third LEGO skyscraper goes up in Wasabi District! At just over 3 feet tall and over 5000 pieces, this 10-storey building is the first office skyscraper in Wasabi District!
This is the office floor, with a receptionist's desk, 3 office desks and a manager's office, as well as a storage room.

Due to various factors my building rate has declined significantly. Nevertheless I am pressing on with my Detroit building project.
Can anyone guess what building this is? (question has now been answered)
(it is located on a major Detroit road)
