Red Canyon hoodoos are unique in appearance and organization from those of nearby Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks. In Red Canyon the numerous red hoodoos line the road instead of filling an amphitheater. Here is a look at some hoodoos along the Pink Ledges Trail.
Super processed view from the Ledge to be able to see the foreground and the sky. A pretty dark sky when I got up there.
Catching the ledges at Kimmeridge at just the right water level is key to getting the shot you want. Last week I headed there for sunrise, and left the main bay behind me as I headed east past Clavell Pier.
A 15 minute walk takes you to Yellow Ledge. The tide was high but falling, which meant no risk of being cut off or having the camera washed away!! I took a whole bunch of shots with different exposures, but I really liked this one which showed the movement in the water just right.
Join me this coming May for my upcoming Jurassic Coast Tour in Dorset where you will be shown all the best locations and in the right conditions to capture shots like this and much more.

Dancing Ledge is a stone quarry located near Langton Matravers on the South West Coast Path in Dorset.
Purbeck stone was quarried here and transported by boats to various places around the country for building.
In the early 20th century a swimming pool was blasted in to the ledge for use by local prep schools. The rising tide fills the pool with water.
This shot was taken shortly after sunset, a 150 second exposure taking full advantage of the colourful clouds moving across the scene to create quite a dramatic effect.
I hope you like it.
Due to a poorly wife, I have not been able to get out onto the coast path for a few weeks but now that she is on the road to recovery I went out walking again yesterday. The weather in the afternoon really closed in but it was great for some mood shots across the Kimmeridge Ledges. I haven't used any filters but I did process this as a gentle hdr to bring out the detail and texture.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
My daughter gave me this kit as a Christmas present. I finally got round to testing it at the weekend and four days later I have a green spike appearing from an almost desiccated spring onion stem and a spike and healthy roots from a garlic bulb. Both growing in pure water, nothing else!

In this Coast Range valley, the Sweet Creek Trail follows the scenic cascading waters of Sweet Creek. This easy hike along Sweet Creek passes by a ton of waterfalls, with majestic Sweet Creek Falls as a grand finale. Each waterfall is framed by mossy rocks and ferns and under a canopy of Douglas-fir, Alder, and bigleaf maple.

Spent the weekend in the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Weather was hit and miss but the scenery was stunning.
This is the view of Maple ledge in Kimmeridge Bay looking towards Clavel Tower. The light was a bit rubbish so converted to B&W.
LR-10214 - Another shot from my stroll along the coastal path and another Heron. Possibly my best bird in flight attempt so far, well they move slow enough.
Have a great Sunday hope it's sunny where you are and your lenses are clean.
I'm heading west maybe, depending on the weather.
Close up detail of Whipp's Ledges at Hinckley Reservation in Medina County, Ohio. These sandstone ledges rise 350 feet above Hinckley Lake and were formed by water currents that led to a sea which covered Ohio over 250 million years ago.
Kyle and myself hiked up to Rattlesnake Ledge early this morning. The sun still wasn't out at the lower ridge, which you see below us in this photo. So we hiked to the upper ledge from where this photo is taken. This was my 9th time up there this year.
I took down the Christmas card images I had on my ledge and found some new things to go up there; polar bears and images with purple in them. The little bear is a cross stitched piece.
