One of my favorite learning 'spots' is Twitter. I know that for the most

part things shared have been vetted by individuals I respect (excluding avid

golfers). I can quickly scan the Tweets, Favorite those I'd like to explore

further, I can access from ANY device & from ANY location & at ANY time --

that's how my students like to learn & so do I!

This week New Bohemia Signs was on site at Facebook's Learning Center to paint a mural I designed. Inspiration came from the ABC's of Bauhaus and the simple idea of object primitives being stepping stones to more complex forms, a parallel to how we often learn: start with basic concepts, make connections and develop those into a deeper level of understanding.

Tapping out beats, rhyming words, and practicing letter sounds is so much fun with Quynn Johnson! Pre-K + K students and teachers at Margaret Brent Elementary in Baltimore City Public Schools have been exploring literacy through tap in this Early Learning residency.

Tenryu-ji is one of the best-known zen temples in Kyoto (and one of the many temples which collectively make up the Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage Site). As can be expected of a zen temple, all the interiors were very minimalist :-) Not so, however, its beautiful gardens, in particular the bountiful "Garden of Hundred Flowers" at the back of the temple.

This is a great time to settle down and really dig into God's Word.

Designed for elementary school students, Learning Pet enriches lessons by creating a physical interface to interact with the virtual world. We demonstrate a number sorting game, where the student interacts with the robot to blast virtual UFO's with the lowest value. Correct answers are celebrated with a wing flap, and each level-up with a dance. We use the Accessory Development Kit to interface with mobile devices while away from the computer.

Learning English through Kindness

Scientology's emeter is modified to use in the "secular" branch called Applied Scholastics. The new meter is called a Learning Accelerator. It has the same components of an emeter, which Scientology claims is a "religious artifact" and is used in the same manner. The use of this is for "Word Clearing". What is a non-religious group doing using a "proprietary religious artifact"?

As part of our monday mornings, we reflect on what we learnt last week.
