Designed for elementary school students, Learning Pet enriches lessons by creating a physical interface to interact with the virtual world. We demonstrate a number sorting game, where the student interacts with the robot to blast virtual UFO's with the lowest value. Correct answers are celebrated with a wing flap, and each level-up with a dance. We use the Accessory Development Kit to interface with mobile devices while away from the computer.

One of my favorite learning 'spots' is Twitter. I know that for the most
part things shared have been vetted by individuals I respect (excluding avid
golfers). I can quickly scan the Tweets, Favorite those I'd like to explore
further, I can access from ANY device & from ANY location & at ANY time --
that's how my students like to learn & so do I!

Inspiration came from the ABC's of Bauhaus and the simple idea of object primitives being stepping stones to more complex forms, a parallel to how we often learn: start with basic concepts, make connections and develop those into a deeper level of understanding.
