Photo by Heather O' Connell -- Ice Land Skating Center, Hamilton -- SONJ's Learn to Skate is a feeder program where athletes with little to no experience on ice are taught basic skills from an adapted U.S. Figure Skating curriculum over a period of 5 weeks. The skills taught can feed into speed skating, figure skating and ice hockey.
In this pilot year, five rinks across the state have participated in Learn to Skate.
