A DEMONSTRATION IN THE VILLAG OF 'A NABI SALIH' OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORY MAY 7th 2010
The demonstration started with a quite march from the village's center down towards the confiscated spring. As soon as the marchers, Palestinians, Israelis and International activists arrived to the entrance of the village, Israeli Army jeeps charged at the demonstrators, firing tear gas projectiles and sound bombs. The demonstrators started running and the army kept charging at them until the some youth started throwing stones at the jeeps and soldiers. Both sides kept clashing for several hours, during which one Israeli Soldier's ambush was spotted and chased away by stone-throwing youth, and an Israeli Army jeep was disabled after being pelted by stones.
Eventually, the Israeli Army, after managing to prevent the protestors from arriving at their spring, left the village and returned to base.
The Learn-to-Swim programme runs from 25th May - 5th June 2014. 45 children and 17 mothers will each receive 10 days instruction. The event is run by Soneva Fushi in partnership with Baa Atoll Education Centre, the school on Eydhafushi.

Two vintage reproductions Barbie Learns To Cook; the lemon blond is the 2007 Gold Label doll; the brunette doll is the Platinum Label doll made as souvenir for the 2007 Paris Fashion Doll Festival. I had in mine to take these pictures since 2007, they are two of my favourite repro Barbie dolls.

The “STEMposium” event was held March 26 at Arnn Elementary School on the Sagamihara Family Housing Area installation. STEMposium brought Soldiers, Civilians and other employees throughout the Camp Zama community to Arnn Elementary to provide the students with an opportunity to see, try and learn how science, technology, engineering and math intertwine with the day-to-day work conducted throughout U.S. Army Garrison Japan. The United States Army Garrison Japan and its 16 supported installation sites are located in the island of Honshu and Okinawa in Japan. The USAG Japan mission is to support the Headquarters, U.S. Army Japan / I Corps (fwd) to ensure mission readiness and the quality of life of the Army community in a sustainable, transforming joint and combined environment.
The USAG-J area of responsibility spans 1,500 miles from north to south of Japan. The Eastgate Branch kicked off the Make.Play.Read.Learn program with fun creation stations for kids of all ages. WE loved learning about rocks and minerals from the Creative Discovery Museum. Plus we painted pet rocks, and made playdoh pizza, made friendship bracelets and new LEGO worlds!

The Basketball system was built, installed and game initiated by the fine team of Shaantech KEPZ Karachi in collaboration with students, teachers, staff of the Chhor Boys school. This team game initiative is part of our poverty alleviation and human development work being introduced in many unprivilaged rural areas and villages of Sindh as a start.
Team sports are equally as important as education in developing world class citizens.
Why I picked Basketball Halfcourt to Sindh villages and now schools. 1) All ages have fun playing it 2) Can be set up in any small area of village, home, school or factory 3) Very low cost set up and material 4) Very easy to learn to play 5) Teaches teamwork to win 6) Teaches you to stay focused, be unselfish 7) Gives very healthy exercise 8) Length of game only 1 hour or less 9) Encourages and allows participation of family, friends, teachers
