This year's Avison Ensemble Young Musicians' Awards 2014 Finals were held on Sunday 23 February 2014 at the Literary and Philosophical Society, Newcastle.
The Awards judges heard twelve finalists for the three categories of Grades 1-3, 4 - 6 and 7 and above and two small chamber groups. The winners were presented with engraved glass trophies created by the North East glass artist Dominic Fonde which are inscribed with music from the Avison workbooks. These are displayed in the winners' schools for a year. The Awards were founded in 2006 and this year's Awards have been supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. www.esmeefairbairn.org.uk
The Avison Ensemble is the outstanding period instrument orchestra based in Newcastle upon Tyne, which plays and popularises the music of Charles Avison (1709-1770) and other English classical composers of the Baroque period, such as Garth, Arne and Herschel. The Ensemble also performs Purcell, Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Geminiani, Pergolesi, Teleman, Rameau, Bach, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.

Ok so Im sitting here with Rachael and Shyanne and for some reason the beginning of the day has completely escaped me...
I remember texting Chiara awhile, I have no idea what time I had gotten back from Ryans but he left to go paintballing and what not.
But that night I made stuffed mushrooms and pasta for Shy and I, we watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show weve been singing "Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me I wanna be dirty thrill me chill me fullfil me creature of the night" since last night lol. I got the kids singing it too which probably isnt a good thing! Then we went to the park, I need to remember to bring my knife when we go out at night, we are 2 little girls lol. But it was an alright time. Came back, chilled a while. And then Ryan came over, he ate a cupcake and then we went to bed. We got Aprils bed. Yup that was basically it. I like it when I get to spend the night with him, I know I say that almost every time but its true, I really do love it. I always sleep the best when Im with him. Its warm and safe and comfy :) Anywho Im done lol.
Sticky note time. At the banquet I was watching these girls 2 step, I want to learn lol. It doesnt seem hard but u never know with me lol.
Shy, Kiara, and I were all bundled up to go to the store lol its starting to get crisp out! Do u like my shirt? I got it from Ryan, its sooo comfy!! What about my shades? Pretty rad huh lol
