Occupy Lincoln protesters march down Lincoln's O Street downtown. About five hundred turned out for the first march on Oct. 15; about a fourth of that number attended the second a week later.

Tidying up ready for some serious room re-organisation..... and found this old cigar box, which contains my Dad's old lead soldiers. Very battered, they were clearly well loved and played with.

At 2300 hrs. on 7/11/2101 LAPD pulled over a vehicle and discovered two 30 pound bundles of Marijuana. Suspects lead LAPD to a Rail Car that had 76 bundles of Marijuana located at the bottom of the Cylindrical Rail Car. To gain better access to the Rail Car, LAPD decided to move the Rail Car to a location that could accommodate all incoming resources. The Rail Car was moved from LA City Jurisdiction into the City of Commerce. At approx. 3 AM on 7/12/2010, LAPD requested LAFD Haz Mat Unit and USAR Unit to make entry into the Rail Car, confine space, to remove all remaining bundles. LA County Health Haz Mat was also requested because the Rail Car, although empty, had a residual amount of unknown product. The product was ruled by Health Hazmat 111 as non-hazardous and non-flammable. During the removal process, LAFD USAR discovered two 6" X 18" cylindrical PVC containers. As a precaution all personnel were removed until LAPD Bomb Squad could positively r/o an incidinary device. It was decided by LAPD Bomb Squad to detonate these two unknown PVC containers and preceed forward with the retrieval of the remaining bundles. All LA County First Alarm Units were strategical assigned to the perimeter of the incident in the event of a larger detonation. The detonation of the two containers occurred and all LA County Resources weer released at scene except for USAR 103, RT103, HT103, BC3 and AC9. LA City requested LACoFD USAR team to serve as a back up entry team for a Confined Space entry. All remaining bundles of Marijuana was removed and confiscated by LAPD. All LA County Units were released at 2048 hrs.

Sailor Lead Crow was the leader of the animamates in the fifth season of the TV show Sailor Moon.
Supposedly a villain, she was actually quite caring and a very unselfish person always worried about her fellow animamates.
She is definetly my favorite character in the whole series.
Crow is a very multi dimensional character. Hard as nails yet has a soft sweet side. She almost has a schizophrenic existance.
She does some terrible things and yet she tries desperatley to save her co worker from being killed.
Crow can also be tempermental at times. (Sometimes she gets frusturated when she feels like she's not being heard.)
And sometimes she can be very tender. (Watch episode 193)
Crow has a "fuku" or uniform that seems to draw inspiration from certain "birds of prey".
She has long nails resembling talons. She has crow feathers adorning her shoulders and hips.
She also has wings in the manga.
Sadly, Crow is given a sad ending.
She is swallowed up by a black hole and remained trapped inside the dark void.
After all the blends last week, I make a PILE of bead canes (slice up the canes, shape, bake) which lead to this... the first of many piles of beads.
Fatherhood was achieved on Father’s Day and will follow suit each day henceforth with a continuous movement where Fit Fathers commune for the benefit of their kids. We share and learn from one another to enhance positive experiences for our families, friends and community.
Naturally, Father’s Day in the Maryland, DC and Virginia area was ignited the “Fit Fathers” way for the 4th year in a row with exercise, laughter, dance, music and fun. We bring dads and father figures together annually to demonstrate the importance of being health conscious and leading by example through positive, nutritional choices. Hype for the event was built from engaging social media campaigns and coverage from Fox 5 DC, News Channel 8, CBS Radio, Radio One, SiriusXM, Black Enterprise and a host of other elite media outlets. Additionally, with $2,500 in prizes at stake for our fitness challenges, over 500 attendees came to the celebration ready for action which resulted in an eventful day.

I feel like I've been finding my own style lately, something a bit more simplistic. I've been staying away from over processing and textures, not a conscious decision but it just feels right. I feel like the images I choose to process are not ever going to be the most popular and I am fine with that. I am less concerned with what the masses think nowadays and am happy knowing that I am putting out images that I'm pleased with.
I've found that I enjoy photography more when it is simple. Coming into the Spring and Summer I was tangled up in strobes and lighting and think I was over complicating my images. I'm not going to say that I don't enjoy a great strobist type image but feel like I've proven to myself that I can make it happen when necessary. I just think it was becoming too much work and it took some of the joy out of it.
I also haven't felt the need to explain each image or write a small novel with every post. I would rather post my image and let you interpret it how you wish. I guess you can expect more of that for a while until I find the need to say something. I do read and appreciate each and every comment and any criticism you have. As with everything, I suppose I am going through a phase in my photography and rather then trying to please you, I am trying to please myself.
I've been wanting to put together a book of my photos for a while and I finally feel like I'm getting to the point where the images I am taking the time to process and post are the type of images I would include. Take this shot for example, one of the best images I feel like I've taken, ever. May not be the most popular, may not follow the rules of photography or be all that interesting to most but to me it's special, it's perfect. I think if I stay the course I'll have enough shots in the bag by the end of the year to finally put that book together. In the end that is what I think it should be all about, a personal journey.

Anyhow, when it comes to the path, Holly and I were 4000 feet up Mount Mansfield in Vermont and had to stay on the path in order to preserve the fragile plant life on the mountain.
