Still working to fix the LCD. Which apparently I broke while replacing the backlight. I can't seem to solder worth crap so I can't get the lcd frame back on.

Check out this neat Canon camera. It has a huge LCD screen on a stick supported over your head so people can see how they're going to look when being photographed. The entire assembly weighs only about 4 lbs.! (Actually it's a walking demo for a new camera, at the Canon booth at PMA08. Still . . .)

The reason why this is STILL my favourite camera, and I never go anywhere without it. All essential settings are displayed in large clear text on the status LCD, so the colour-screen stays off ~ & batteries last for ever.(well, almost.)

Checking that the LCD segments all work by connecting the display PCB to the main PCB, also connecting the cursor control potentiometer and checking the digits are fully formed.
