The LCD on my laptop, rotated 45 degrees because that makes it look cooler. This is a black and white checkerboard on the LCD, sized down to 66% which happens to give the weird crosshair pattern.
Taken with a sigma 18-200mm zoom lens and all three of my extension tubes. The lens was actually touching the screen. :-)

So I'm reading the latest issue of Photo District News, I turn the page, and there's an image from my LCD series !
It's used to illustrate a show at Boston's Photo Resource Center (now taken down) where I had four prints.
The LCD module (Dick Smith Cat Z 4172) has 16 pins; I soldered them onto a 16x1 riser that is then plugged into a breadboard.

I noticed what looked like dithering on my Motorola Droid 3's LCD. Turns out it's just an odd pixel arrangement! They've added a white subpixel, which really spreads out the other subpixels.
It's very noticeable within about 6 inches of the LCD.
